More Rev. Wright Insults – This Time His Own Goddaughter!

I’ve been reading more of Rev. Wrights incoherent ramblings before the National Press Club. It is so bad that he even insults his own Goddaughter!

“My goddaughter’s unit just arrived in Iraq this week while those who call me unpatriotic have used their positions of privilege to avoid military service while sending over 4,000 American boys and girls to die over a lie.” – Rev. Wright

A lie? What lie exactly? WMDs? Nope – many were indeed found. That Saddam wasn’t linked to terrorists? Well, his ties are well documented so that can’t be it either. So what “lie” Mr. Wright?

But worse than still propagating his own leftist lies, Mr. Wright has insulted his own Goddaughter who is serving by insulating that her service is in the name of this so-called “lie” and that she is willing to support what he mistakenly believes was a “lie”! Way to insult our soldiers Mr. Wright!

Leftists will throw their own kin under the bus when it suits them. Barack did it to his own grandmother so why would you expect Mr. Wright to be any different?

Someone get this reprobate a bigger shovel. He is going to need it.

Murtha’s Office Calls Cops On Blue Star Mothers - Then Denies It?

The office of Congressman John “Our Troops Are Murderers” Murtha is having to answer questions after it called the cops on a group of Blue Star Mothers during a visit to Capitol Hill and while they were trying to get a meeting with him:

While Murtha is clearly comfortable disparaging our military men with cameras rolling and lights blazing, one can only assume that the thought of having to look the victims of his smears in the eye was more than he could bear and more than his staff knew they could expect of him.

After the visit by the Marines, several Blue Star mothers also paid a visit to Murtha’s office to speak with the Congressman or a staff member. This request was similarly denied.

After expressing displeasure at their unwillingness to meet with constituents, the mothers left the building. The Congressman’s staff reaction to this four minute conversation was particularly ironic in light of Murtha’s harsh words about our military’s ability to handle stress.

As they left the building and returned to the Cannon building area, 4 Police cars with flashing lights pulled up and 7 Policeman surrounded one of the Blue Star Mothers and requested she step aside. They asked if she had been in the Rayburn Bldg and what was her business was. She explained that she sought an opportunity to speak with the Congressmen or one of his staff. The officers took her driver’s license and detained her for several minutes. She was told that Murtha’s office had called them because she was “disruptive.”

When asked for comment, Matt Mazonkey of Murtha’s office now claims, “She was never asked to leave our office, nor was she insulted by any member of our staff.” So, she was not asked to leave but police were called to detain her? She was not asked to leave but she became the recipient of a United States Congressman’s attempt to use the Capital Police to intimidate a citizen? Has Murtha and his staff spent a little too much time at the Clinton school of doublespeak?

Very curious indeed. But certainly not out of character for your typical liberal.

The question now is who called the cops and if there was no problem will the moonbat who hates the families of our soldiers so much, and is willing to use the police to harass them, be arrested themselves for making a false complaint?

There are some of you out there who think I am joking when I talk about liberals and their love for fascism and the police state. Do you really think that if they are put into power they won’t do the same to you when you try and petition for redress of grievances or try to say something they find objectionable? Like say promote liberty and unalienable rights?

If you lay down with these dogs you will get fleas.

Green Politicization of Iwo Jima Photo Condemned by Black Veteran

Washington, D.C. - Kevin L. Martin, a member of the Project 21 black leadership network and a U.S. Navy veteran, is joining fellow veterans in denouncing the Earth Day-related cover art on the April 21 issue of Time magazine.

Time altered the famous flag-raising photo from Iwo Jima is altered to show Marines raising a tree rather than the American flag to highlight an article promoting activism favoring increased regulation to fight perceived man-made global warming.

“For Time to compare the politically-driven hoax about the severity of man-made global warming to one of most pivotal moments in American history is a slap in the face to the brave men who fought their way up Iwo Jima’s Mount Suribachi to plant our flag and send a clear message that victory in the long war in the Pacific was achievable,” said Martin. “To callously use a famous military image so important to our nation’s veterans with seemingly no concern for its impact on them shows just how far those promoters of this hoax will go.”

In describing the reasoning behind politicizing Joe Rosenthal’s Pulitzer Prize-winning photo, Time managing editor Richard Stengel told MSNBC host Joe Scarborough: “We wanted to do something that was prescriptive… And by using that famous Iwo Jima image and saying basically what we have to do is what we did before World War II by creating a great national effort, national endeavor, to combat this problem. Using cap-and-trade policy and using new research into renewable energy and having an efficiency surge with energy all across the country.”

A proposal under debate in the Senate would create a “cap-and-trade” policy designed to limit emissions of greenhouse gases. Reducing energy use by U.S. manufacturers will have a braking effect on jobs and income.

Commenting on the Time cover, Iwo Jima veteran Donald Mates told the Business and Media Institute: “The Second World War we knew was there. Some say there is global warming, some say there isn’t. And to stick a tree in place of a flag on the Iwo Jima picture is just sacrilegious.” John Keith Wells, the Marine lieutenant who led the platoon that scaled Mount Suribaci and raised the American flag, opined: “That global warming in the biggest joke I’ve ever known.”

“It is a shame that Time magazine is belittling the heroism of our World War II veterans to push for policies that may bring back unhappy homefront memories of that era such as food and energy rationing,” added Project 21’s Martin. “There has yet to be a real scientific debate on the contributions of man to any sort of global warming. The crusade by environmental activists and the willing complicity of media such as Time magazine is resulting in misguided policies. Reducing of production and exploration in the short run is going to raise prices and limit access to resources, while risky long-term schemes such as biofuels will pit stomachs against gas tanks. Is it also lost on Time that the war in the Pacific was based in part on access to energy resources?”

Hero Honored

Somehow I doubt that this hero was a Barack Obama supporter or planning on voting for a Democrat:

WASHINGTON - Navy SEAL Michael A. Monsoor had fast thinking to do when a live grenade came out of nowhere to bounce off his chest: Take the clear path to safety that he had but his comrades didn’t, try to toss it safely away, or throw himself on top of it.

With barely an instant’s hesitation on that Iraqi rooftop, Monsoor took the last course, sacrificing his life to save the men around him. For that, President Bush on Tuesday awarded him the Medal of Honor.
In an East Room ceremony, Bush presented the nation’s highest military honor to Monsoor’s still-grieving parents, Sally and George Monsoor. About 250 guests, including his sister and two brothers, fellow SEALS, other Medal winners, many friends and GOP Sen. John McCain and other members of Congress, looked on quietly.

Surprise! Another Liberal Caught Trashing Our Soldiers!

This time it was Senator Rockefeller who implied that our soldiers are uncaring, heartless, murdering bastards who just want to kill people and then run away.  His comments were directed at Senator McCain and his service during Vietnam.  He has also since retracted his statements and apologize for being a moonbat asshole:

WASHINGTON (AP) - Democratic Sen. Jay Rockefeller apologized for suggesting Republican Sen. John McCain doesn’t care about people because he was a Navy fighter pilot who dropped bombs on Vietnam.

Rockefeller supports fellow Democratic Sen. Barack Obama for president. He made the comments in an interview published Tuesday in The Charleston Gazette in his home state of West Virginia.

“McCain was a fighter pilot, who dropped laser-guided missiles from 35,000 feet. He was long gone when they hit. What happened when they (the missiles) get to the ground? He doesn’t know. You have to care about the lives of people. McCain never gets into those issues,” Rockefeller said.

Yes, another day, another liberal member of Congress trashing our soldiers and vets. They could form a club or something. Let’s see … John Murtha could be Supreme Moonbat, John Kerry could be Vice-Supreme Moonbat and Rockefeller could be Moronic Moonbat Extraordinaire.

Do these people even think for one second before they make such idiotic statements about our men and women who have served proudly in uniform? What am I saying!  Of course they don’t “think”!  They are liberals!

HOPE FOR THE FUTURE

HOPE FOR THE FUTURE

Easter is a Christian holiday that, in part, celebrates hope - hope for the future.

The men and women of our military fight to give us hope for the future as well - it is called Freedom. Because we have freedom we have the opportunity to provide a better life for our children and grandchildren. Freedom allows us the ability to become whatever we want to be in life whether it be a doctor, firefighter, or autobody repairman. Freedom gives us the right to choose how our life should be lived.

On April 9, 2003, the United States Armed Forces along with the Multi-National Forces liberated Baghdad from the reign of Saddam Hussein. He reigned with terror. On April 9 we saw on the television the people of Baghdad tearing down the statue of Saddam. It has been a challenging 5 years for the Iraqi people and our Armed Forces. Thru the surge and new strategy of the past year, the people of Iraq have begun to enjoy the freedom that allows them to hope for the future. Hope that their children will never know the terror of the past.

April 9 is a day to celebrate the Liberation of the people of Iraq. In celebrating their freedom, we honor all those who served and laid down their lives to make it happen. We honor those who chose others before self. A special Celebration will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on April 9 including the families of the Iraq and Afghanistan Fallen Heroes laid to rest at Arlington. In addition, we would like everyone across the nation to honk their car horns or ring their church bells at 5:00 pm Eastern Time (2:00 pm Pacific).

Share this message with everyone you know and on April 9, 2008 at 5:00 pm EST let us all celebrate hope and let Freedom Ring throughout our country and our world!

LETTERS FROM THE FRONT

As part of the Iraq Liberation Day Celebration, we would like to post a series of Letters from the Front. We ask families with deployed soldiers to send us letters that share the changes that have taken place in Iraq and Afghanistan since 2003. These should be written by heroes currently or recently deployed. Letters can be sent to: merrilee@familiesunitedmission.com with “From the Front” in the subject line. We hope t o read one of these letters during our celebration at Arlington National Cemetery. Other letters will be posted on the blog. Reminder that these letters need to be written to protect the privacy and mission that continues in Iraq while still sharing the good news of the changes that have been affected.

Vets for Freedom Heroes Tour

The Vets for Freedom Heroes Tour is beginning the second stage of the tour in Minnesota on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 with stops in Forest Lake and St. Paul. The tour will continue thru Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, Georgia, and then work its way up to Washington, D.C. and New York.

As part of the tour, Vets for Freedom is highlighting the accomplishments of the men and women of our Armed Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. Join them on the tour and show your support. Visit www.vetsforfreedom.org for the up-to-date tour schedule.

PRO-ACTIVE RESPONSE TO RECRUITING CENTER PROTESTS

As part of our Pro-Active response to the continued protesting done at Recruiting Centers across the country, Families United would like all our members to contact their local Recruiting Center on the first Wednesday of each Month - This would be April 2. We encourage you to stop in and say hello on a regular basis and thank them for their service. Without their service to our country - there would be no military. They need our support as much as the heroes on the front lines do!

We have found that our responses to the protests only gives the protestors more media publicity and therefore defeats our cause of proud support of our military. Let us do all in our power to ensure those serving on the home front know we stand beside them!

LEADERSHIP CONFERENCES IN WASHINGTON, D.C.

The Regional Leaders met in Washington, D.C. March 13-16, and made great progress towards the further development of Families United. A State Leadership Conference is being planned for April 8-13, pending funding.

As part of the Leadership Conference, we participated in the Eagles Muster and March on Saturday March 15. It was a great event. During the final event moments, an Apache Indian veteran did a sacred ceremony honoring the fallen heroes. During the ceremony a lone eagle circled overhead. We were all moved by the moment.

WHAT’S IN A NUMBER?

With sadness, we recognize that the number of casualties in the War on Terror is soon to reach 4000. It is important that our voices are heard regarding this “milestone”. Fallen Hero number 1 is equally cherished, honored and important as is number 4000. These heroes need to be honored not marked as a milestone. We do not wish to be at war, but we must defend our country. The media, in its wish to show how bad this war is, will be making extra “noise” about hero number 4000. We encourage everyone to be proactive in responding to media and share the honor of our heroes - fallen, deployed and veteran. They are our nations greate st asset!

Liberals Strong Arm Heroes Out Of School

Here’s another play out of the left wing, anti-soldier, anti-America playbook. When a soldier (and hero) is scheduled to speak, just stomp your feet and complain until the person organizing the event backs down and disinvites them.

A national tour featuring decorated veterans from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan won’t be stopping at Forest Lake Area High School today as planned, after school leaders abruptly canceled the visit.Steve Massey, the school principal, said the decision to cancel was prompted by concerns that the event was becoming political rather than educational and therefore was not suitable for a public school.

He said the school had received several phone calls from parents and others, some of whom indicated that they may stage a protest if the event took place.

“The event was structured to be an academic classroom discussion around military service. We thought we’d provide an opportunity for kids to learn about service in the context of our history classes,” Massey said. “As the day progressed, it became clear that this was becoming a political event … which would be inappropriate in a public setting.

So you have some moonbats making the event political and that is the reason to cancel it? That’s not going to be a standard you are going to like living up to Mr. Massey. Because now every time some moonbat doesn’t like something you are going to do all they have to do is protest and make it “political”. Then you will have to cancel because you have set that standard.

I really wonder how many “several” phone calls really are. Two? Three? Maybe a whopping four?

You’re basically just a coward. Let’s call a spade as spade here. You kowtowed to liberal activists who neither support the war nor our troops (no mater how much they claim otherwise) to continue to promote their own political agenda instead of honoring brave men and women who served this country like you should have.

And what’s more, you should be absolutely ashamed of yourself for treating true heroes this way.

This Is What Separates Soldiers From Ordinary People

You want to talk about a sense of honor? A sense of duty? A sense of loyalty to your fellow man and your country? Then all you have to do is talk about your typical United States soldier. Ignore those that signed up for the college tuition and then complain when they are actually called up to serve and repay the debt. Focus on Sgt. Wayne Leyde:

After completing two tours in Iraq, Sgt. Wayne Leyde won $1 million from a scratch-and-win lotto ticket on Tuesday.

Now that he’s won, Leyde, a 26-year-old member of the Washington National Guard, says he’s still going to volunteer to go back to Iraq for a third tour and won’t spend any of the money in the meantime.

Leyde was driving near his home in Mead, Washington when he stopped at a store on the side of the road and bought a ticket.

God bless him. Liberals will no doubt curse him, but God will bless him. In a strange sort of way, this sort of puts all those hippie bastards in Berkley who disrespect our soldiers in their place. Here is a man that, with proper investment, would never have to work again. Yet he goes to take bullets for people that don’t like him.

If they had any shame, they’d feel like the asses they are down in Berkley.

Even Angelina Jolie Says Surge Has Worked

Actress Angelina Jolie has an editorial in the Washington Post that is sure to make liberals go bonkers. In her editorial she pleads for MORE money and MORE resources to be spent in Iraq even as liberals in Congress and on the campaign trail are whining about the cost.

As for the question of whether the surge is working, I can only state what I witnessed: U.N. staff and those of non-governmental organizations seem to feel they have the right set of circumstances to attempt to scale up their programs. And when I asked the troops if they wanted to go home as soon as possible, they said that they miss home but feel invested in Iraq. They have lost many friends and want to be a part of the humanitarian progress they now feel is possible.

Jolie’s plea is of course to help prevent a humanitarian crisis because of the millions of Iraqis who have been displaced by Al-Qeada terrorists over the past years and beg for government assistance.

But it is still counter to what typical liberal talking points are given on Iraq.

Angelina, call me. We’ll do lunch. Because you aren’t going to be invited to too many more Hollywood cocktail parties once word of this gets around. Heck you better watch out you don’t get yourself on the blacklist and find yourself begging for work.

Victory! Berkley City Council Cuts & Runs Like Good Little Liberals!

Liberals cut and run when they are actually faced with having to fight for something. History bears this out and we can add another instance to the list:

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) - City council members who were criticized for telling Marine recruiters they don’t belong here have moderated their position, saying they oppose the Iraq war but support the troops.
The Berkeley City Council voted two weeks ago to send a letter to a downtown recruitment station advising the Marines they were not welcome. After a marathon session that stretched into early Wednesday, the council decided against sending the letter, saying it recognizes recruiters’ right to be in Berkeley. The council members say they still strongly oppose the war and the recruitment of young people, but “deeply respect and support” the men and women of the armed forces.

Councilwoman Linda Maio said the council opposes recruitment, not the military. “It’s behavior that we oppose, not the people,” she said.

Yeah, yeah, we’ve heard this all before. The result is now basically more statements of “we support our baby killing soldiers who are too stupid to know they are being used by the imperialist United States”. Uh, thanks?

This is a major retreat from their prior stance which called for the Marines to get the hell out of town. Why? Because not even their buddies Code Pink, the commie anti-troop mommies, could field enough foot soldiers to combat the wave that was descending upon them.

Just look at the poll we are currently running here. When asked whether or not people agree with the liberals in Berkley, the results are astounding:

The City of Berkley has called the Marines “uninvited”, “unwelcome”, and “intruders” while rolling out the red carpet for Code Pink. Do you agree with Berkley?

When 93% stand against with you it’s hard to fight a battle. Especially when you are a bunch of cowards.
