If you thought that President Obama was negligent in his lack of attention to national security issues due to his overwhelming concentration on jamming healthcare reform down our throats, his first response to the tragedy that occurred at Fort Hood is equally telling. Stepping out to the podium, the crowd expecting to hear solemn words, heartfelt sympathy and potentially even anger at the seemingly religiously motivated shootings resulting in military deaths and wounded on our very own soil, they heard the statement below instead.

What are the priorities of this President? Does he know the seriousness of what happened at Fort Hood? Does he care? Does he truly sympathize with the soldiers, civilians and their families or is this just more rhetoric that he was fed to say? Judging by the priorities of his speech I would say that like most everything else coming out of this White House it is merely the rhetoric they think people want to hear. Only this time they screwed up the order of his delivery.

The left can say what they will about our former President, but he had and still has a deep feeling for our men and women in combat and sincere sorrow for any who make the ultimate sacrifice. President Obama making the very public move of going to Dover Air Force Base to see soldiers being returned from overseas was great P.R. However, his priorities in his speech and ability to inject levity when he spoke may tell you all that you need to know.

The Politics Of Healthcare Supersedes The Security Of The Country

Watching the news intraday on Thursday, a familiar character appeared on the screen.

Low and behold, on a day when ordinary citizens descended on the capitol to show their disapproval of the Pelosi bill due to come up for vote as early as this weekend, President Obama made a move that he had only made twice before. He showed up in the White House press briefing room to give a little more PR for socialized medicine.

It has become painfully obvious to anyone actually looking, that a decision on Afghanistan is being pushed to the side in order to avoid antagonizing any of his far left liberal base prior to this healthcare vote.

Socialized medicine taking precedence over the security of our country and the safety and lives of our troops. That is your Commander-in -Chief!

al-Shabaab Associates Itself With Al-Qaeda

Originally formed to fight the Somali government, al-Shabaab, according to FBI Director Robert Mueller, may be looking to expand its' base of operations to include the United States. The concern involves U.S. citizens that may have travelled to Somalia for training, and who will have no restrictions to returning back home.

Now that Al-Qaeda type attacks are occurring in Somalia, it is felt that al-Shabaab may be a full affiliate of the terror organization. It is the threat of a home grown terror base that is the most alarming as this will be the hardest to control.

With Al-Qaeda and the Taliban becoming more aggressive is this the time for the United States to pull back and give them free reign?

Some Of The Intelligence

(Fox News) A U.S. counterterrorism official told FOX News that al-Shabaab has exploded since 2006, and it is becoming a full-fledged Al Qaeda affiliate, similar to Al Qaeda in Iraq. Initially the group's militias fought against the Somali government and Ethopian forces who are against an Islamic state in East Africa, the official said, but now the group's focus is turning toward the establishment of a "caliphate" or broad Islamic state not limited to Africa.

In fact, in an exclusive briefing on Thursday, a U.S. counterterrorism official told FOX News that al-Shabaab's leadership is bona fide Al Qaeda. In many cases, the operatives who guide the group in East Africa have pledged allegiance to Usama Bin Laden in person, and in some cases the Al Qaeda leader has entrusted them with missions outside of the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, according to the official.

Training camps are now well-established in Somalia, and as many as 1,100 foreign fighters have joined the al-Shabaab movement, the president of Somalia's transitional government told a crowd gathered at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington on Wednesday.
