  Growing up almost in the shadow of major league baseball’s unofficial sacred temple, Yankee Stadium, “The House That Ruth Built,” the home of the New York Yankees, winners of 18 division titles, 40 pennants, and 27 World Series championships, and which can justifiably boast of 44 players and 11 managers enshrined  in the Baseball Hall of Fame, I was a rabid Yankees fan.
