SMSGT John P. Ryan, 81, USAF Retired / Vietnam Veteran, Heathsville, VA.

SMSgt John P. Ryan, 81, USAF (Retired) of Heathsville, VA died 16 Aug 13. He was a dedicated USAF Veteran who as a Senior Air Policeman, served in Korea and Vietnam. He served 21 years before retiring. Among his many awards and decorations are the United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award, National Defense Service Medal and Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. SMSgt Ryan was also an avid motorcyclist, who enjoyed cross country trips.

SMSgt Ryan is to be interred on the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery on 7 Feb 14 at approximately 1100 hours from the Administration Building. PGR has been invited to attend the services by his family, and we will be there to stand tall silent and proud in honor of this Air Force Veteran and American Hero, his family, friends and comrades at arms.

Brief: 0945 hrs.
KSU: 1000 hrs. Transit to ANC Administration Building
Honors: 1100 hrs. Graveside (time Approximate)

Iron Horses are preferred, and cages welcomed as always.
Mounted large flags preferred for the transit to ANC (furl upon ANC parking).
Large hand-held flags NOT used in ANC for graveside services.
Military mandated ID / gear NOT required for this mission.
Please check the weather, extended forecast calls for cold weather. Dress accordingly – You may cage to this mission.

NOTE: Concealed/carry permits are NOT recognized on military installations and federal reservations. Therefore do not bring firearms to this mission!
