Marine Corps Poems: The Blues

Carl | May 10, 2013

There has been a lot of uniforms
Seen throughout the world,
Some of red with epaulets
And even some with pearls.
But when it comes to uniforms
That stand for good and true,
Their ain’t no other uniform
Like a set of Marine blues.

They stand out in color,
They stand out in form,
They stand out to challenge,
Behavior that ain’t norm.
Let no man wear them
Who ain’t willing to be true,
There is no other uniform
Like a set of Marine blues.

You and I have worn them
On the land and sea,
On duty or presentations
With pride that you can see.
No matter what the occasion,
No matter when the time,
Our blues were spit and polish
And had a lot of shine.

Let no man put asunder
The finest of the lot,
If you are privileged
To wear them,
Take pride in
What you’ve got.
There is no finer service
Represented by the blues,
There is no better uniform.
