 Conservative African-American physician Dr. Benjamin Carson, Director of the Pediatric Neurosurgery Division at the famed John’s Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, gave President Barack Hussein Obama a well-deserved, articulate comeuppance on Thursday.
Addressing the National Prayer Breakfast while Obama sat sometimes grinning, mostly grim-faced on the same stage, Dr. Carson politely yet forcefully ripped into Obamacare and, by inference its chief proponent. In a common-sense speech laced with humor and Christian religious allusions, he also criticized government involvement in medicine and lectured the president on basic economics and fiscal responsibility by urging a pro-growth tax code reform to reduce our astronomical national debt and our equally-astronomical annual budget deficits.
More specifically regarding Obamacare, Dr. Carson offered his non-socialistic alternative to Obama’s Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) whereby newborns would be given health savings accounts so that they eventually would be equipped to take care of their own health needs instead of having to rely on the dubious decisions and generosity of Washington medicrats.
Dr. Carson summarized his revolutionary health care ideas: ”When a person is born, give him a birth certificate, an electronic medical record, and a health savings account to which money can be contributed–pretax–from the time you’re born ’til the time you die. When you die, you can pass it on to your family members so that when you’re 85 years old and you got six lecturing , you’re not trying to spend up everything. You’re happy to pass it on and there’s nobody talking about death panels.”
He added that “for the people who were indigent who don’t have any money we can make contributions to their HSA each month because we already have this huge pot of money. Instead of sending it to some bureaucracy, let’s put it in their HSAs. Now they have some control over their own health care.”

The chances that Obama and congressional Democrats would even seriously considering Dr. Carson’s practical and intelligent proposals range from nil to less. Why would they want to change things now after ramming the grossly-unpopular Obamacare down America’s collective throat and since they conveniently exempted themselves from its onerous provisions.
Dr. Benjamin Carson is a true American hero for myriad reasons. He had the temerity to confront the president of the United States with truth to refute the president’s lies and he had the gall to invoke his firm Christian beliefs against Obama’s abortionist religion. He actually criticized political correctness!
 The Wall Street Journal suggests Dr. Carson run for president. I suggest he merits the Presidential Medal of Freedom, an award he will never receive while Obama is in office. He’s just too conservative for a left winger.
