The future of our Constitution is the future of our country

Tea Party Express | October 4, 2012

Dear Friend of Liberty,

This fall will bring not only a momentous election for our country’s future, but also a momentous occasion for our Constitution. On September 17, 2012, the Constitution of the United States will mark the 225th anniversary of its signing at the conclusion of the Philadelphia Convention of 1787.

The future of our Constitution is the future of our country.

Today, the Constitution is in tatters. Ignored in Washington, reviled by the academic elite, and depicted in our schools as an obstacle to be overcome on the way to real “progress,” the Constitution is no longer respected, let alone revered.

We have partnered with the great bastion of conservative education Hillsdale College to reverse this sorry state, and return constitutional principles to the pre-eminent place they must hold so that our nation can prosper. To that end, Hillsdale offers all members of the Tea Party Express the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the Constitution—so that your love for it enduring ideas may continue to grow.

Two free opportunities for enriching your constitutional education are available now:

“Constitution 201″ – The Progressive Rejection of the Founding and the Rise of Bureaucratic State”

This new 10-week online course taught by Hillsdale College professors will examine American progressivism: its historical roots and principles; its rejection of America’s founding principles and Constitution; its political successes in the New Deal, the Great Society, and in recent years; the ongoing political debate between progressives and conservatives; and the chance of a constitutional revival. Following on the success of “Constitution 101,” which drew nearly 300,000 participants coast-to-coast, this course is ongoing but can be joined at any time.
