Major Walter D. Gray, 38, of Conyers, Ga died August 8, 2012 from injuries sustained during a suicide bomb attack in Kunar province, Afghanistan. He was an Air Liaison Officer and flight commander for the 13 ASOS, a geographically separated unit of the 93rd Air Ground Operations Wing, headquartered at Moody Air Force Base, Ga. He was assigned to the 13th Air Support Operations Squadron at Fort Carson, Colorado.

Major Gray is to be buried on the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery on 24 August 2012 at approximately 1500 hours from the Memorial Gate.

PGR has been invited to attend the services, and we will be there to stand tall silent and proud in honor of this American Hero, his family, friends and comrades at arms.

Services: 24 August 2012
Stage: 1330 hrs Iwo Jima War Memorial
Brief: 1345 hrs
Transit: 1400 hrs to Memorial Gate
Honors: 1500 hrs Interment ANC (time approx.)

Ride Captain: Bill Johnston
Iron Horses preferred, cages welcomed as always.
Mounted large flags preferred for the Transit (furl upon ANC parking).

Large hand-held flags NOT used in ANC for graveside services.
Military mandated ID / gear NOT required for this mission.
