It was three years ago today, on June 1, 2009, that Muslim convert Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad carried out a terrorist attack in Little Rock, Arkansas that took the life of a USÂ Army Private and injured another to within an inch of his life.
He was born as Carlos Bledsoe, but after converting to Islam in college he took the name Abdulhakim Muhammad and went to live in Yemen where he worked, took a Yemeni wife, and consorted with Al-Qaeda and other extremists groups on how to kill Americans and wage jihad on the west. After living in Yemen for 2 years, he was deported back to the United States for overstaying his visa.
After returning to the US, Abdulhakim plotted to kill Americans:
| Muhammad drove from Memphis to what he believed was the  Nashville home of an Orthodox rabbi. He threw a Molotov cocktail at the house  but it failed to ignite. Muhammad then drove to an Army recruiting center in  Florence, Ky. to carry out an attack, but found it closed.
Frustrated, Muhammad he went back to Little Rock on June 1, 2009. He saw two  men in Army fatigues standing outside a recruiting station smoking. He opened  fire, killing Pvt. William Long and wounding Pvt. Quinton Ezeagwula. Muhammad  was stopped and arrested by police a short distance away. He has been behind bars at the Pulaski County Detention Facility since his  arrest. Muhammad said he would have killed more soldiers if they had been in  the parking lot. He told Little Rock detectives that the shooting and killing  of soldiers at the recruiting center was an act of jihad and not murder.
…He has since proclaimed himself a member of al-Qaida in the Arabian  Peninsula who wanted to “carry out jihad in America” after  returning to the United States. This heartless terrorist has never apologized for what he did, never recognized that it was wrong or repented from his radical ideology. This radical interpretation of the Islamic faith led him to commit murder of an innocent man, and he tried to murder others.
Please remember to pray for the families of those innocents who were killed. And please honor our troops who put their lives on the line to keep us safe from madmen like this!Â

| WHAT IS ANSWER THE CALL AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
Every  summer, Move America Forward spends a month focusing on supporting one  particular unit deployed in Afghanistan. We select this unit based on the  difficulty of their mission and the danger level in the region of Afghanistan  in which they are fighting. We have selected 800 Marines from the 2nd MEF to support and  we’ll continue raising money until we have enough to send support to all 800  of these troops, who are operating in 2 of the most dangerous provinces in  Afghanistan. We have currently raised enough to help about 736 of the Marines, but that  means we’re still short by 64! Are we really going to allow 64 Marines to go without support? There must be enough people out there willing to help our Marines! We  can reach our goal today if people really step it up with another donation! |

THEÂ USMCÂ 2nd MEFÂ is a group of Marine combat teams “responsible for ground operations” the very dangerous Helmand and Nimruz provinces, and surrounding areas. These are two areas where the Taliban has been very active historically, and this summer shows no sign of bucking the trend!
