Armed resistance
Jay Sekulow, ACLJ | December 27, 2011
As we near the end of 2011 it is important to remember that this year saw an unparalleled assault on the Israeli people.
A dramatic increase of rockets fired at Israeli civilians, the formation of a terrorist-led Palestinian government, President Obama’s demand that Israel return to indefensible borders, and a failed attempt to violate international law at the United Nations (U.N.).
The terrorist-led Palestinians don’t want peace with Israel; they want to wipe the Israeli people off the map. With our offices in Washington, D.C., at the U.N. in New York, and in Jerusalem the ACLJ is actively working in the defense of Israel every day.
Join the ACLJ in defending Israel and the Israeli people from this terrorist threat.
We are days away from the deadline for our critical year-end Matching Challenge, but we are only halfway to our $1,000,000 goal. Every tax-deductible gift you make online today will be matched, but we must meet our goal to take full advantage of this opportunity.
Your generosity is key to providing the resources we need to continue fighting for faith, freedom, the lives of unborn babies, religious liberty, Israel, and so many other critical challenges we face everyday.
The Prime Minister of Hamas – the terrorist group leading the Palestinian Authority – made their intent clear: “Armed resistance and armed struggle are the strategic way to liberate the Palestinian land from the sea to the river.”
The ACLJ is firmly committed to defending the Israeli people:
- The ACLJ is working with Members of Congress urging the end to taxpayer funding for the terrorist-led Palestinian Authority.
- When President Obama demanded that Israel give up its land and return to the indefensible pre-1967 borders, our senior attorneys immediately took action to work with Members of Congress, the U.N., and Israeli officials to ensure that America remained supportive of Israel.
- We exposed the Palestinian Authority’s attempt to use lawfare – the use of the legal system against an enemy in war – to subject Israeli citizens to prosecution for war crimes they did not commit.
- I have presented arguments at the International Criminal Court to defend Israel against false criminal claims.
- Our attorneys discredited the flawed Goldstone Report that accussed Israel of war crimes, and the report’s author retracted its false claims this year.
- When the terrorist-led Palestinian Authority attempted an unprecedented attempt to circumvent international law and the Middle East peace process by seeking official recognition of statehood at the United Nations, we sent legal analysis letters to the U.N., delivered petitions from hundreds of thousands of our members, and worked with Members of Congress to protect Israel.
We have not just talked about the importance of defending Israel, we have been actively engaged in defending and protecting America’s greatest ally from constant assaults. Take action with us today.
In addition to defending Israel, over the past year your support has allowed us to:
- Stop taxpayer funding for abortions in Washington, D.C.
- Persuade the U.N. to prohibit nations from using Shariah (Islamic) law to silence religious expression.
- Protect the right of an elementary school student to start a Bible club at school.
- Testify before Congress on the state of religious liberty in America.
- Pursue Planned Parenthood in federal court in California and Texas in two massive fraud suits.
- Defend pro-life pregnancy centers as they faced the threat of shutdown from an unconstitutional law.
- Successfully defend the National Day of Prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, our National Motto, and other public expressions of our religious heritage.
This list of victories over the past year could go on and on, but we need your support today to have the resources required to tackle these current challenges and the new ones to come in 2012.
Please make a final tax-deductible donation today to the work of the ACLJ before December 31st, and your gift will be doubled. Every $100 becomes $200 toward the work of the ACLJ.
Your immediate support is critical as we are just days away from the end of our Matching Challenge. Thank you for your commitment to Israel and the ACLJ.
