And To Think, Conservatives Used To Be Happy About The GOP Field!

J.J. Jackson | December 28, 2011

I remember hearing all summer long how “happy” my fellow conservatives were with the crop of GOP contenders vying for the nomination to face off against President Obama next November. All they could say was how good the overall field was and shower the candidates with praise.

My, my, my … how six months changes thing. We have gone from euphoria over the field to a stark realization about how bad some of the candidates really are now Mitt Romney still remains near the top, Newt and his weird brand of non-conservative conservatism has risen to contender status and Ron Paul’s wacko blame America for everything wrong with the world ideology is getting some traction among those desperate for something other than Newt or Mitt. Of course, I warned you about all this months ago. Now it seems that GOP voters are finally starting to wake up and realize that there is a stench very foul emanating from the field.

Better late than never. But unfortunately it seems for America, barring a miracle, we are too far down the road to change course. Maybe people should have started to pay attention sooner? If they had, we could have avoided the coming catastrophe whereby any of the three current frontrunners, while better than the outright Marxist that is President Obama, have no ability to guide us home and to our roots of limited government.
