$3.8 Million For More Special Interests From Department Of Labor

J.J. Jackson | October 29, 2011

On September 28th, 2011 the Department of Labor announced that it was releasing $3.8 million dollars for another special interest.  This time is was was people with disabilities.

In the email release touting the granting of taxpayer dollars, the DoL proclaims:

“The U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy today announced a total of $3,787,000 in continued funding for organizations managing consortia that develop models, provide technical assistance and share best practices to improve employment opportunities for people with disabilities.”

So why are people with disabilities so special?  Who knows.

It is unconstitutional for the federal government to disperse federal revenues raised by taxes to fund people looking for jobs and train them for work.  Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution is very clear and this is outside of its bounds.  But what is even more grotesque is that they are distributing funds to a subset of workers or would be workers when it is the role of government to treat all with an equal eye.
