Spend, Spend, Spend! Get That “Green Energy” Money Out The Door!

Even thought it is unconstitutional, even though the government has already been burned by the recent scandal of Solyndra, even though the program is just two days from expiring, those were not reasons for the Obama Administration to not dole out another one billion dollars in loan guarantees to solar energy projects.
Yes, on Wednesday the bumbling, stumbling, fumbling administration currently in Washington, who seems to have never met a liberal boondoggle it didn’t like, approved nearly $750 billion in loan guarantees for Tonopah Solar Energy and almost $340 billion for Mesquite Solar. The companies will use the money to build, so we are told, solar plants of 110 and 150 Megawatts respectively. It appears to be yet another classic example of liberals not being able to admit that their actions are wrong and a failure but instead plowing ahead on the same old course and believing that more money will make their actions work.
Of course, if the plants were going to be profitable the government would not need to give these loans; private investors would be lining up with money. Especially in a day and age when interest rates on bonds are near zero, CDs are a worthless investment and the stock market jumps so erratically as investors try to out guess the next bit of bad news.
But hey, don’t tell that to Steven Chu, the Department of Energy or President Obama. Because you see there is money to be spent! And you cannot expect liberals not to spend it. No matter the risk or the cost.
