RNC Needs To Stop Playing Favorites

It may seem petty to some, but I detest some of the absolutely childish internal and purely political games the RNC plays. One such game is how they allow some states to hold their primaries before others.
Officially, the RNC allows only four states to hold their Republican primaries or caucuses before March 6th. These special states are Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada. Under RNC rules, which are completely arbitrary and capricious, no other state may violate the March 6th deadline.
Those four states that have special permission, because someone with power has a son who is married to someone else with power’s daughter or some other equally stupid reason, all are holding their elections in February. February? Are you kidding me? All in a rush to be “first” and broker some power?
February? I ask again, because have you ever been in Iowa or New Hampshire during a February snow storm? It boggles the mind why either of these two states would risk the credibility of their elections over the fickleness of Mother Nature.
Now Florida is getting into the act. They want to be first and are making rumblings about moving their GOP primary to January 31st! Thus you have Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina crying foul. Each are threatening to move up their primaries if Florida goes ahead with it’s plans. The RNC has also threatened to disenfranchise GOP voters in Florida and not count their votes if they violate the secret handshake agreement between the good old boys of the GOP.
What could ensue is a series of leap frog attempts by all these states until they push their primaries up so far that they are basically irrelevant. If we seriously have five primaries, most of which are from small states with low electoral counts, and at least one state which is very liberally Republican (New Hampshire) in January the results could very well be insignificant come May. That is if voters can even get to the polls after shoveling out of their driveways!
The RNC should not be involved in this. It is stupid that they are. If a bunch of states want to wave their pricks around and make themselves wholly irrelevant to the whole process by holding primaries, eventually, two years before the election then I say let them! Enough already!
