A Mother Spots Her Marine

Carl | August 29, 2011

We got to Parris Island the day before Family Day.

We told the guard at the gate that we wanted to “visit the museum”, as Sue had seen this advice in a Marine-parent forum as a way of getting onto the island ahead of time.
We really didn’t have any expectation of seeing our daughter, I primarily wanted to get an idea of the layout of P.I. so we would know where we should be for Family Day and Graduation Day.
We were headed towards the Parade Deck when suddenly Nick called out “Hey, I see some people marching over there.”

We parked Nick’s truck to see what was going on and decided to shoot a video clip.
The end of the clip turned out to be pretty crappy because of what we saw at the 14 second mark, you can hear the elation in Sue’s voice, after that we pretty much forget about the video.
