Critical new case
Jay Sekulow, ACLJ | June 28, 2011
Delta Airlines has entered into a partnership with Saudi Arabian Airlines – an airline and a nation with a policy of discriminating on the basis of religion, ethnicity, and gender.
Under this new alliance, there is real concern that American Jews will be prohibited from flying into Saudi Arabia – and a U.S. corporation would be the entity enforcing that policy. Even non-Jews with an Israeli stamp in their passport could be targeted. And, of course, U.S. citizens who are Christians are in the danger zone as well, often facing blatant discrimination in Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia where Sharia law is embraced.
Saudi Arabia, which owns Saudi Arabian Air, has a well-documented history of embracing Sharia law – the basis for these discriminatory policies. This is yet another example of how Sharia law is infiltrating our nation and is in direct conflict with the U.S. Constitution.
I have mobilized the ACLJ’s legal and legislative teams, urging Delta to cut its business ties with their discriminatory partner and asking the Federal Aviation Administration and Congress to get involved.
Please take a stand against this discriminatory policy, and tell Delta to cut its relationship with the Sharia-compliant Saudi airline. Sign our “Petition to Demand Delta End Business Partnership with Saudis.”
When you go to sign this important petition, you should notice something different at ACLJ.org – a brand new website we have just launched.
For two decades, the ACLJ has been defending our constitutional rights to life, religious liberty, freedom of speech, and more; and it has always been ACLJ members like you who have made our work possible. We have built this new website to give you greater access to the information you need and new online tools to stand with us in these crucial battles.
In the new Our Mission section of the website, you will find an interactive history of the ACLJ and learn more about some of our cases before the United States Supreme Court through video, audio of my oral arguments, and courtroom sketches. We have also created a brand new Legal Resources section that has 46 legal briefs by our attorneys on the key legal issues we face every day.
To keep you better informed, we have created the new Docket Blog. I am regularly posting to this blog, as is my son, Jordan, Than Bennett from our Government Affairs team in Washington, D.C., and several of our senior attorneys. If you have ever missed an airing of our radio show or television show, you now have a great resource to find our shows in the new Radio & TV section. You will find trailers for ACLJ Films there as well.
Please make sure to visit our new Get Involved section of the website. We now have past petitions, as well as tools for you to conduct your own petition drives and find your Members of Congress in order to contact them directly or through social media.
Again, I know that it is your support that makes all of this possible and I am so very grateful. I hope that you find the new ACLJ.org a valuable and easy-to-use resource. Thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Jay Sekulow
