TEA PARTY EXPRESS TO JOHN BOEHNER: NOT JUST NO, BUT HELL NO!
The Tea Party Express (www.TeaPartyExpress.org) is calling on Speaker John Boehner and other members of Republican leadership to stand firm and not raise the debt ceiling. Chairman Amy Kremer gave the following statement:
“For too long, Congress has abdicated fiscal responsibility, running up a budget deficit of over a trillion dollars, and a national debt over fourteen trillion. Those numbers are sickening, and causing the steady erosion of the integrity of the US economy. To say this is no longer acceptable is an gross understatement.
“Amid such dire financial straits, it is beyond the pale that the American people should be asked to blindly give Congress even greater leeway to squander the financial future of this country. We the People are simply no longer willing to fund the failures of Congress, or finance their inability to come to reasonable solutions for our economic woes. With growing alarm, we watch the squabbling over millions of dollars while our debt soars further into the trillions.
“We are equally disturbed by the attitude among many of our Representatives and Senators that there is ‘no alternative’ to this fatal spending addiction. Clearly, many of them still need to be replaced by the tea party. For this reason we are calling on Speaker Boehner to say “Hell No!” to the cacophony from the left that demands we quietly raise the debt ceiling, and harness our children and grandchildren with the weight of their failures.
“Congress, it’s time to stop the spending. John Boehner – have courage, remember the tea party, and fight for us!”
