Update: Marine Corps Dictionary, Part One

So your son or daughter has graduated from USMC boot camp training, and as they are telling you of the experience, there are some new words in their vocabulary that you don't quite understand.
Well, here is a brief rundown of Marine Corps slang(We'll be back with more at a later date):

Deck: The floor or the ground.

Inkstick: a pen

BCG'S: Ugly, black plastic frame eyeglasses issued to recruits, hence the name "Birth Control Glasses"

Belay That: to cancel a previous order or directive

Brain Bucket: a helmet

Bug Juice: powdered drink mix, such as Kool-Aid

First Shirt: First Sergeant

Go Fasters: running/athletic shoes

House Mouse: recruit assigned cleaning duties for drill instructor areas

Midrats: late night rations or snacks

O-Dark-Thirty: very early (before sunrise)
