Repealing Obamacare, Deficits, Costs and More
The Heritage Foundation | January 29, 2011
- An Ohio mother has been given a ten-day jail sentence for falsifying residency records in order to enroll her children in a better school district.
- Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) has introduced legislation to finish what the House started and repeal Obamacare.
- According to Congressional Budget Office numbers released today, this year’s budget deficit has hit $1.5 trillion.
- Medicare’s chief actuary has admitted that Obamacare is unlikely to keep costs down, nor will all citizens be able to keep their own health coverage.
- Reuters reports some troubling news on the education front: “The results of the 2009 National Assessment of Educational Progress, or the Nation’s Report Card, showed that only 21 percent of high school seniors were performing at or above the proficient level in science.” This comes, of course, after decades of increased federal spending and intervention in education.
