Quick Thought For Today (December 30, 2010)

J.J. Jackson | December 30, 2010

Far too many scoff at the thought of State’s right to nullify extraconstitutional acts by our federal government. This scoffing has indeed grown loud over the centuries because as time rolls on we see more and more unconstitutional acts passed. And that if those who have scoffed before agree that nullification may finally be done in the current or the next instance it would set precedence to undo all such instances before them too.

For those of you that scoff at nullification, answer me this. If our federal Congress passes unto the States unconstitutional laws and those laws shall not be vetoed by the President or overturned by the Courts then what? If all branches of the federal government choose to act in concern against limited government then what if not nullification?

How do you propose that the States enforce their rights under the tenth amendment if not through nullification? Or do you bluntly propose that they do not enforce such things and instead insist upon their people being simply raped of their liberties by the federal hand?
