Help CAGW Be Ready for January’s Spending & Tax Battles!
CAGW | December 27, 2010
With all the responses that have been pouring into our website in recent days, I have not gotten a report yet as to whether or not you have taken part in our 2011 CAGW MEMBER’S ONLY NATIONAL SURVEY to help us formulate our Battle Plan for the coming year.
If you haven’t already participated in this vitally important survey, I want to urge you to do so today. I need your input before January on which battles you think are the most important to the future of this nation and to you and your family.
I am also writing to request that you make a tax-deductible, year-end contribution to CAGW. Here’s why your support is so important right now.
This time last year, we knew we would be fighting some of the worst wasteful tax-and-spending plans in the history of this nation in 2010. But like most Americans, we underestimated how radical and irresponsible the Obama Administration and the Pelosi/Reid Congress would be.
Starting with our leading role in fighting to block – and now repeal – the worst provisions of ObamaCare, continuing with our successful drive to keep the $1,500 per family cap-and-trade energy tax from passing Congress, and culminating with our blockbuster “Chinese Professor” television ad, which has been heralded as one of the greatest statements of the decade on the potential impact of America’s rising debt, this has been an unprecedented year for CAGW.
Even in the face of a White House and Congress that were intent on ramming through the most liberal, big-government agenda that we’ve seen in more than 70 years, we have won a broad range of historic victories for you and all taxpayers – like the long-sought earmark moratorium that the new House majority and the Republicans in the Senate adopted for the 112th Congress.
But these hard-fought victories have come at a cost. These battles and many others too numerous to mention here have depleted our resources far below our budget.
We simply cannot find ourselves in the critical early days of January without the funds we need to help the new majority in the House and our now larger number of allies in the Senate fight to repeal the worst deficit-producing government waste of the past two years.
That is why I am appealing to you to help us replenish our war chest for the New Year.
You may have already sent a contribution to CAGW in response to my recent request to take the time during this busy holiday season to participate in our 2011 CAGW MEMBER’S ONLY NATIONAL SURVEY and make a year-end donation to help CAGW act on the recommendations you have made. If so, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. And if you wish to make another contribution now to help us have the funds on hand to fight the pivotal spending and tax battles that will unfold in the early days of next year, I would be extremely grateful.
But if you haven’t yet made your year-end contribution, I urge you to do so now.
Every dollar you send will make a difference in how effective we can be and the results we can achieve early next year. If you have not already done so, please make your most generous tax-deductible contribution of $25.00, $35.00, $50.00, or even $100.00 to give CAGW the financial firepower to win the battles ahead and build on the groundswell of opposition we mobilized this year to the failed big-government policies of the Obama Administration and the Pelosi/Reid Congress.
Believe me, your help has never been more important to us. I am relying on you. Please let me hear from you today.
Sincerely,

Thomas A. Schatz
President
