Few Want FCC Regulation of Internet – There’s That Liberal 20% Again!
J.J. Jackson | December 28, 2010
When it comes to recent stories citing how the FCC is preparing to move to regulate the internet, support for such action is very low. Just 21%, according to a new Rasmussen poll, want such action taken while 54% are opposed and 25% are more interested in shiny objects and don’t know what they think about this issue.
Once again we are seeing the same 20% to 25% of Americans who think that liberalism, despite its anti-freedom, pro-authoritarian, anti-Constitution agenda, is just peachy keen supporting this measure. Just don’t don’t ask them what authority under our federal Constitution the FCC would have for such a measure. Because either they will ignore you or, if they are feeling lucky, and think that you are a bigger dullard than they are, they will try to pass the discredited arguments of the “general Welfare” clause or “interstate Commerce” clause past you. Yes, basically trying to say that the few and enumerated powers of our federal government are really limitless and unbounded allowing them to do whatever they want to us and bend us, the American people, over the barrel and have their way with us whenever they want.
James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, Benjamin Franklin and the rest of our founding fathers would be stringing them up by their bootstraps for such a claim.
