Help Expose & Defeat the Biggest Spenders in Congress!

CAGW | September 10, 2010

This Congress is one of the most fiscally irresponsible and destructive in the history of our nation.

I say that because they have driven the federal deficit to a previously never-dreamt-of, all-time record $1.4 trillion and are on pace to double the national debt over the next 10 years!

But tragically, too many Americans blame “the other guy.”  They simply don’t realize that their Representative or Senator is one of those deficit spenders who are destroying America’s future.

The reason Americans don’t realize their Representative or Senator is one of the biggest spenders in Congress is because the big spenders are very often even bigger liars!

Time and again, the worst deficit spenders do everything they can to make themselves sound like they are fiscally responsible when ABSOLUTELY NOTHING could be farther from the truth.

But CCAGW has a vital weapon we are using to expose and defeat the biggest spenders in Congress.  With our newly released 2009 Congressional Ratings, we are working around-the-clock to show Americans the 105 worst Representatives and the 43 worst Senators whose overspending is literally bankrupting this country and wrecking our children’s future, and I am asking you to make an EMERGENCY RATINGS CONTRIBUTION today to help us expand and multiply the impact of this vitally important nationwide effort.

Consider this, the 105 worst Representatives, which include House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and the entire Democratic leadership, are such big spenders they could not manage to cast a single fiscally responsible vote out of the 110 House votes analyzed by CCAGW.

This included voting four times against reducing discretionary spending in appropriations bills by a meager 5 percent.

They also cast votes against cutting off spending for more than 65 pork-barrel earmarks, such as $1 million for the Environmental Science Initiative at Drew University in Madison, N.J., which has an endowment of $171 million and charges $50,000 annually for tuition, room, and board.

They had 110 chances and these arrogant, self-serving politicians couldn’t vote the right way EVEN ONCE!

We are also shining a white-hot spotlight on the 43 Senators who all scored less than 10 percent on our Ratings, including Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.). These Senators’ voting records show that they have chosen time and again to put the special interests ahead of the interests of this nation and America’s taxpayers.

Our Ratings are getting the most extensive news coverage in CCAGW’s 26-year history.

But to enlarge this campaign and really take on the 105 Representatives who scored a ZERO and the 43 Senators who scored less than 10 percent, I need to ask you to make an EMERGENCY RATINGS CONTRIBUTION today.

With your EMERGENCY RATINGS CONTRIBUTION, we will blanket the congressional districts of the 105 worst Representatives and the states of the biggest spending Senators who are up for reelection with news of their extremely poor scores on our CCAGW Ratings.  We will also call them out on the specific votes where they failed to cut wasteful, deficit spending and protect taxpayers.

We need to do all we can in the remaining days before the November elections to make Washington’s wasteful spending the biggest issue in the nation in order to defeat the biggest spenders and force Congress to pursue more fiscally responsible policies. Please make your largest possible contribution of $25, $35, $50, or even $100 to help us expose and defeat the reckless, irresponsible, self-serving members of Congress who are bankrupting this country.

Sincerely,
