What started with our outrage that California Attorney General Jerry Brown would attend a fundraiser hosted by CODE PINK’s Jodie Evans, has turned into a major campaign issue here in California! An unintended but understandable consequence of the publicity generated by MAF’s protest last week, the media reports about the fundraiser have caused Jerry Brown’s gubernatorial opponent, Meg Whitman, to step into the topic by issuing a statement calling on Brown to return the money.
MAF was the first to call for Brown to return the money, and the Whitman campaign has correctly called out Brown on his shamelessness in raising money from the likes of Code Pink. We’ve been saying since last week that Jerry Brown should renounce any and all connection to Jodie Evans and her organization, CODE PINK, because of their vile anti-American views and the dishonorable and offensive tactics they use to put their point across. Remember, this is the group we beat last year in Berkeley, California, when they tried to close down the Marine recruiting station.

Yesterday, Jerry Brown dismissed us telling the San Francisco Chronicle, “it’s the silliest thing I’ve ever heard.” He tried to claim this was a fundraiser with old friends and had nothing to do with Code Pink. Yet, look at the fence in the front yard of the fundraiser. I think it is safe to say that Jerry Brown is not telling the truth.
Ironically, the San Francisco Chronicle showed its own poor reporting and partiality when it framed the question as “Republicans have tried to make something out of this Jodie Evans thing…”
Hello! This is not just REPUBLICANS! We’re patriotic Americans of all major parties, third parties, independents, people who aren’t even political! We just want to support the troops and our country because they fight for our safety and protect our freedoms! Is that too difficult for newspapers to understand?
Jodie Evans raised thousands for Barack Obama because she thought he would pull our troops out of the Middle East, and she’s tried her best to make that happen. Now she’s raising money for Jerry Brown and for what, to support our troops? Not likely! CODE PINK’s agenda is about siding with America’s enemies and pushing a radical socialist agenda – that’s what they’re giving money to Jerry Brown to do!
NOT OK TO TAKE CODE PINK’S BLOOD MONEY!
