Quick Thought For Today ( August 30th, 2010)
J.J. Jackson | August 30, 2010
Al Sharpton is in a tizzy over Glenn Beck daring to hold a rally on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial this past Saturday. It was the anniversary of Rev. Martin Luther King’s “I Have A Dream Speech”. Mr. Sharpton complained that, “This is our day and we’re not giving it up.”
Ok, first of all Al did you miss the part of MLK’s sermon regarding content of character and not the color of one’s skin? So trying to proclaim the day as “your’s” (ie black people’s) is counter to that message.
Second of all, if the day was so gosh darn important to you why didn’t YOU have the mall reserved in advance for a rally? Hmmmmm?
