This is not Camelot…
Carolyn Hileman

While most Americans are at the very least curtailing their vacations, not so for the rich and presidential, Vacation travel so far this summer for Mrs. Obama: Chicago over Memorial Day; Camp David just before July 4; a family weekend in Maine, including sightseeing in Acadia National Park; mother-daughters trip to Los Angeles in June. First Lady Michelle Obama has added another vacation to her summer. Next month, she will be traveling to Spain for what the East Wing describes as a “private, mother-daughter trip with longtime family friends.” Also upcoming on her August vacation schedule: an Aug. 14 weekend with the family on the Florida Gulf and Aug. 19-29 on Martha’s Vineyard.

Now wouldn’t it be nice to jet around the country on some one else’s dime especially while they are forced to watch all the news reports of your great adventures at home because her husband has caused them to either be unemployed or in fear of losing their job. The president and his wife seem to think this is Camelot and that we enjoy the fact that they are now able to jet around the country, sipping fine wine, eating only the best of foods while showing every culture imaginable to their children, friends, family and secret service. Of course you know that while they are out doing all of this their staff is being paid to join them.

Mortgage note late, don’t worry just turn on your TV and watch the Obama family on vacation, trying to decide between filling up your car and buying groceries never you fret CNN will always show you a smiling Obama in yet another tax payer provided location. Worried that your child might need to go to the doctor, afraid to take them because it will kill your budget, just switch on the TV and watch the Obama children taking in the sites. Americans are losing jobs left and right and the president is golfing, American troops are dying in Afghanistan and they are getting ready for their next trip. The only thing worse than his disinterest is when he does something because we all know it is going to raise the deficit even higher and help only him. Someone needs to tell him, he did not win the lottery, he was not elected to see the world, and this is not Camelot…
