We must know what they know when they know it.
Carolyn Hileman
All the way home from our trip to Virginia all we could hear on the radio was news about the underwear bomber, I could not help but think what if he had succeeded would they mention the fact that he was you know, that word, Muslim? Would they have mentioned that he boarded that plane intending to kill Americans and would have gotten away with it if the bomb had not been a dud? Would they have called it terrorism, or simply said it was either pilot error or birds that caused the crash, those who saw the explosion in the air would they have been called conspiracy theorists?
Considering every piece of information we get is from the mass media, one has to wonder if he had succeeded would they have bothered to tell us the truth. And then there are those other crashes, the ones that made us wonder which we were told very quickly were not terror related. How much information was not given to the people, how many lives have been put at risk because the media did not want us to know? These are the people who said the war on terror was over, who scoffed at the terror levels like we were scaredy cats that just could not let go does anyone really think they would report on anything terror related.
They spent every day after 9/11 telling us that it was an isolated incident, it couldn’t happen again, and that the Bush administration was just trying to frighten us into voting for them. The Fort Hood shootings, even though we all knew what had happened there was not even considered terrorism even though the man had terrorist ties and was there goes that word again Muslim. The media and even some armed forces preferred to seep it under the rug and claim he had PTSD when the man had never been to war, then they came up with it was from listening to his patients, I watch several shows like Criminal Minds does that mean I am going to go off one day and start shooting?
Before long I am sure the media will try to spin this as just some poor guy who was confused he really did not have terror ties. We really cannot blame them though because people chose to believe it, they never wanted to dig any deeper, they just wanted to forget about it and get on with their lives so why bother to question. The thing is, when you don’t question you put you and your family at risk any time, any place and you have no one but yourself to blame. The more we allow them to censor our news, to spoon feed us what we want to hear rather than the facts, the more we put our lives in danger. We simply cannot continue living our lives with our heads in the sand, trusting whatever they say.
How many people were on that plane? How many people would have died in vain because we could not handle the truth, because we were not given the truth? How many people died on the floor of the Fort Hood base died in vain because no one wanted to call it what it was, how many more will die as we unravel all the lies, the non news, the things they did not want us to know? It is time we start taking responsibility for our own safety, no one in the mass media is going to do it for us, the White House will not do it for us, we must demand the truth, we must know what they know when they know it.

I regret to take issue with Ms. Heilman.
The key to dealing with Islamic terrorism is
knowing what they’re up to BEFORE they know the final plans of their leadership or, at least, contemporaneous with it so they can be pre-empted.
Far better yet is to cease playing their games of their action and of our reaction, of fighting this enemy on its own terms, of fighting this war as if it were the last war instead of a unique war.
We did that in ‘Nam and what did it get us? A defeat in the current war won’t merely bring humiliation. It will mean incalculable casualties, inestimable devastation, and a total change in our culture and lifestyle.
If it happens, we will only have oureselves to blame.
May God bless and save America!
