Olympian Tells Animal Rights Wackos To Pound Salt

J.J. Jackson | January 27, 2010

It is a sad commentary on the pathetic lives of some shallow human beings when they spend their time worrying about what is on the costume of a figure skater. But that is exactly what some pathetic group called Friends of Animals has done by focusing on U.S. figure skater Johnny Weir and his use of fox fur for one of his costumes.

Weir, however pretty much put these nut jobs in their place by telling it like it is saying, “I totally get the dirtiness of the fur industry and how terrible it is to animals. But it’s not something that’s the No. 1 priority in my life. There are humans dying everyday. There are thousands if not millions of homeless people in New York City. Look at what just happened in Haiti. I tend to focus my energy, if there is a cause, on humans. While that may be callous and bad of me, it’s my choice.”

The group also targetted the designer of his costume pretty much without success as well.

I want to applaud Mr. Weir for being so blunt on the issue. Groups like this really just annoy the tar out of me. They are all for the rights of animals … except animals called humans. If these loonies would have been around at the dawn of man the human race would have been lucky to have not gone extinct!  Could you image how quickly they would have been clubed to death themselves as all they sat around badgering Grog to not kill that succulent deer for its meat and its fur to stay fed and warm in winter?
