Does Joe Biden Want To Change The Constitution?
Carl Andrews | January 20, 2010
Vice President Joe Biden is worried.
What he is worried about exactly is hard to pin down.
At a Democrat fundraiser on Sunday, here is what Biden had to say:
“As long as I have served, … I’ve never seen, as my uncle once said, the constitution stood on its head as they’ve done. This is the first time every single solitary decision has required 60 senators,” Biden said. “No democracy has survived needing a supermajority.”
I’m not quite sure just what democracy Biden is referring to, maybe someone reading this can clear that up for me.
If I were a cynic, I might think that Joe is concerned about Democrats losing their fillibuster-proof majority in the Senate, whether as a result of Tuesday’s special election to fill Ted Kennedy’s seat, or because of what is sure to happen in this November’s elections.
That couldn’t possibly be his real motive.
Could it?
Say it ain’t so Joe!
