What is the breaking point.

What is the breaking point.
Carolyn Hileman

It’s not much they are asking for you know, just our values and beliefs, to compromise on the things we believe in for the better good. Compromising is like lying once you have done it a couple of times it gets easier and before long you find you can compromise on just about anything. Don’t believe in abortion, but hey, who are you to say someone can’t have one, with your tax dollars, well it has to be paid somehow. Don’t believe the president should be interfering with private market business, people need jobs, if he can fix it where they can have them who am I to criticize? Government run healthcare, it is not in the constitution, gonna cost me a bunch of money but there are people who don’t have insurance. One day you wake up and realize you have compromised yourself to death, you no longer are sure what you believe, you have different sides all talking in your ears and you just want to scream enough.

To date we have been asked to accept that we are no longer a Christian nation, that there are more Muslims here than Christians, that refusing abortions to woman is tantamount to denying men Viagra, that government run healthcare will cure all the nations ill’s if we will just shut up and pass it. We have been asked to accept that the president set up an email to spy on those opposing the healthcare bill even though it is illegal; we have been asked to watch as the president sent union members and ACORN volunteers to rough up people who were expressing their right to freedom of speech and not think anything of it. We have been forced to listen to hour after hour of media telling us we are idiots, with a chorus of Hollywood stars to back them up, we have watched as the media tried to ignore 2.5 million people in Washington denouncing the healthcare bills among others, we watched as Fort Hood became a killing ground and were reproached when we wanted something done and an investigation.

So the question is what will they ask of us next, what will we be willing to give? Our right to freedom of speech, our right to own property, our right to decide how many children we want and how best to care for them, will we hand over our jobs to the newly legal immigrants? What is it? What is the breaking point? What is it that you would defend to the death if necessary? We have been belittled, we have been lied to, we have been ignored, and we have been beaten. What else could they possibly have planned; do we really want to know? Will we wait until there are troops in our streets, till we can no longer get any information not censored by the government? I am tired of being told that I must compromise, I am tired of being told that my beliefs are outdated, that there is something wrong with me if I do not follow their lead. So I am asking you what is the breaking point.
