U.S., China deadlock in Copenhagen

The United Nations climate change summit in Copenhagen appeared Wednesday to be falling victim to a standoff between the United States and China, with observers starting to voice fears that already-low expectations for the conference will not be met. The conference is scheduled to conclude Friday soon after President Obama and more than 100 other world leaders arrive, but little progress was evident in closed-door negotiations between rich and poor nations.
