That is just what Grinch’s do.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, everywhere you turn, it is colder outside, in some places it is snowing, there are decorations hung and the lights at night feel almost magical, it is Christmas, but there is a problem the Grinch has his own elves and they are willing to do his bidding no matter what the cost may be. So we the parents who must deal with life after Santa leaves are not going to be spending as much as we usually do. As a matter of fact it is questionable if Santa will be allowed to use his sled this year as the carbon footprint is yet to be determined and well even Reindeer have to go sometimes and there are new ordinances being put in place daily.
The Grinch’s elves are working over time to get out a massive healthcare plan by Christmas, the bad thing is as usual they do not know how to pay for it so most parents are waiting to see what they tax and how much they tax before going into debt for the next year to get Junior a new bike. Then there is the cap and tax bill based of false information that no major media will dare mention that will also be defining just how much the parents spend. You see, parents at least the prudent ones take a lot of things into consideration before they go out and spend a ton of money on things their family really does not need. While they would love to loosen the purse strings memories of the past couple of years when they were just barely able to meet their bills overshadow that moment of Sally would really love a doll that can talk.
Merchants across the globe count on Christmas to put them in the black and after Christmas spending to be the icing on the cake, but with such indecision from the government and fear of just who salaries they plan to tax to pay for what, sales are not near as high as wished for. At a time when the people are having to cut back and are living paycheck to paycheck they see their government wanting to just keep spending with no real way to pay for any of it unless they tax them and they are resentful. They simply cannot afford a big Christmas like Christmases past and it not by any fault of their own, and what do they tell their kids? Santa had to make a few cutbacks this year; he is storing it all up for next year? There is a movie about a Grinch who stole Christmas but he has nothing on the real one sitting high on his throne at the White House.
Makes you wonder, doesn’t it, just what will they do for Christmas on your dime, where will they go, will there be a big tree, lots of gifts??? Of course there will be because you see for the Grinch and his elves they don’t have to worry about all the stuff they burden you with that is part of being a Grinch and his elves. They can do what ever they want and never be affected by it. So while you are cutting back, sending less Christmas cards, marking off non essential gifts and wondering how the kids will react to socks and underwear on Christmas morning, they are in Washington working on taking even more of your Christmases away, but then again that is just what Grinch’s do.
