Meet me in the streets we have a battle to win.
Carolyn Hileman
They walked in snow, shoes with holes worn thin by the incessant marching, starved and shivering to the bone they marched on, we sit in comfortable homes, dialing phones, typing emails occasionally attending tea parties and complaining to our friends our war is different than theirs our salvos are instant as soon as we hit send, we needn’t send information via curriers on horseback we can just post it to facebook or twitter and thousands upon thousands will hear the clarion call. Now we must learn yet a different type of warfare the type that our enemy has used for years, while we have made many inroads using the internet we have also forgone the legwork involved in winning and we must never do that. You see while we have been sitting here comfortably, they have been walking door to door talking to people and getting their message out and if we wish to win back our country we need to be meeting them on the doorstep.
2010 is too important to leave to hopes and wishes; it is a do or die election because if we do not defeat them there we will be forced to live under this tyranny for another two years. So we must hit the streets, carry our truth to their doors, we must set up in front of places like Wal-Mart and spread our truth. We must hold our rallies outside so that they see our presence and wish to be a part of it; while it is nice to sit inside and listen to the speakers they are only preaching to the choir if we do not have these rallies in public. We must have poll watchers at every single polling place even those that we think will only bring in a few because those are the places they will use. We must be willing to take people to the polling places, help them get there to vote, if they do not make it to the polling place that is one more liberal vote to be counted because I can assure you the liberals will rent busses.
We must set up phone banks and we must man them with people who are educated in the issues, we must infiltrate the college campuses, talk to these young men and women, tell them just how much of their future has already been mortgaged. I know this sounds like an awful lot of work, but I can assure you groups like ACORN and Organizing for America will be out there doing exactly what I have been mentioning here. They have everything to lose and a lot more to gain if we sit idle. We have the truth on our side if we are only willing to get out there and tell it. We need voter drives, we need workers, we need soldiers and we need you. Tomorrow is not too soon to start, we cannot expect anything different if we keep doing the same thing, this is a fight we must win, and we have no choice. Commit yourself to talking to one more people each and every day; make this the year that you stand up for your country.
They walk through sand each and every day, eat MRE’s wear hot uniforms and hump up to a hundred pounds through the sand; they do it to protect our freedom. You will get to come home to a nice warm home, take a shower and sleep in a comfortable bed but you will be fighting along side some of the greatest people in the world. If our country does not mean this much to you then stay at home and watch as they take away more of your rights, but if you are ready for the fight of your life, to believe in something bigger than yourself then meet me in the streets we have a battle to win.
