Climate/Climategate Updates, Part One

Gene Lalor | December 5, 2009

For the uninfomed:The Climatic Research Unit e-mail hacking incident, also known as Climategate began in November 2009 with the hacking of a server used by the Climatic Research Unit (CRU) of the University of East Anglia (UEA) in Norwich, England, in the United Kingdom.  An unknown individual stole and anonymously disseminated over a thousand e-mails and other documents. The university confirmed that a “criminal breach” of their security systems took place but could not confirm the authenticity of the material at short notice and expressed concern “that personal information about individuals may have been compromised.”Details of the incident have been reported to the police, who are investigating.  Later, Phil Jones, Director of the CRU, confirmed that all of the leaked e-mails that had provoked heated debate appeared to be genuine:” Wikipedia.

And the beat goes on . . .

For those informed but not keeping abreast of the plethora of climate change and Climategate-related developments, some updates:

U.N. to Probe Climategate Leaks: The ever-watchful folk at the United Nations, the same folk who have perpetrated the whole fraud of anthropogenic global warming, have now decided to investigate the matter.

Said investigation will not focus on why the U.N. has for decades persisted in propagating the patent falsehood of evil mankind causing climate change with our greenhouse gas emissions.

Rather, the Chairman of the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, Dr. Rahendra Pachauri,   reflecting some Brit diction, has declared, “We will certainly go into the whole lot and then we will take a position on it.  We certainly don’t want to brush anything under the carpet.”

Why anyone would believe that Pachauri or his henchmen at the United Nations would even think of under-the-carpet brushing is mystifying.

After all, pinning climate change on the industrial world, principally on the United States, has only been a prime raison d’être for the U.N. in its quest to level the playing field and sharing the planet’s (America’s) wealth with the Third World.

Britain’s “climate change secretary,” Ed Milliband, joined the fray by saying the iniquitous “flat-Earthers” will not get away with using truth and factual evidence to refute dogma proclaimed by the United Nations: http://bit.ly/73cGbO.

Not to be outdone, Sen. Barbara Boxer weighed in with a demand for a criminal probe not into the actions of the IPCC and the CRU but into the actions of the dastardly East Anglia hackers who outed the IPCC, the CRU, et al.

Boxer blathered almost incoherently, “You call it ‘Climategate’; I call it ‘E-mail-theft-gate.’  Whatever it is, the main issue is, Are we facing global warming or are we not?  I’m looking at these e-mails, that, even though they were stolen, are now out in the public:” http://bit.ly/6dwOPV

Huh?

I say, “potato” and you say, “potahto,” but what comes first, Mrs. Boxer, the chicken or the egg, the criminal deception or the criminal hacking?

Not incidentally, Dr. Pachauri has served as chairman of the IPCC, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, since 2002, the same body which shared half a Nobel Peace Prize with Al Gore in 2007.

Also not incidental is that Pachauri was born in Nainatal, India, which directly relates to the next pip of a story.

India Says, “Shove your Emissions Cuts:”  To its credit, sort of, India has refused to play China’s game of ostensibly agreeing to cut its greenhouse emissions and then doing as it damned well pleases.

China and India are the world’s most prolific polluters and have been virtually exempted from restrictions imposed by the Kyoto Protocol.   Lately they have been asked to, pretty please, play nice for the sake of saving the planet.

China said, Hey, sure, we’ll do our darndest, (wink).  India’s Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh said, Take your carbon emissions standards and stick them where the sun can’t shine through the polluted haze.

Ramesh phrased his rejection more diplomatically but no less emphatically: ”There is no question of India accepting a legally binding emission reduction cut,” http://bit.ly/6sv5pt.

We therefore have the U.N.’s Pachauri’s native India thumbing its collective nose at U.N. dictates on global warming while Pachauri promises to investigate the hacking at East Anglia which revealed the farcical nature of global warming.

Any chance Ramesh and Pachauri collusively conferred and the latter told the former, Don’t believe any of this climate change crap, just keep those smokestacks and cows belching until America caves?

One can only take so much of this climate garbage at one sitting.

Part Two will delve into Governor Arnold-Gate’s climate panic and the Unhappy Danish Hookers’ devious scheme to fight back against hooker-discrimination during the U.N. conference in Copenhagen.

If nothing else, it will be lighter reading.
