Bob Casey Versus Pre-Born Life

Gene Lalor | December 22, 2009

People often get so wrapped up in themselves, so immersed in their personal lives and interests that they can’t see the forest because those stupid trees keep getting in the way.

Most politicians by nature are self-absorbed–think Obama–and that absorption seems to extend to their spouses, at least in the case of Terese Casey, bride of almost 25 years to the junior senator from Pennsylvania, Bob Casey.

The Caseys have four beautiful daughters.

Many Pro-Lifers consider Sen. Casey to be their last, best hope in the U.S. Senate to repel the abomination of Obamacare but they may be very, extremely disappointed.

One of 8 children of the late Pennsylvania governor and staunch Catholic anti-abortionist Robert Patrick Casey, Jesuit-trained Sen. Casey is poised to help put the final nail in the coffin of the pre-born by casting his vote on Thursday, Christmas Eve, for Harry Reid’s version of Obamacare.

Merry Christmas!

Terese Casey was annoyed that pro-lifers were staging a vigil outside the Casey home in Scranton, PA: “Why are you doing this; you know he’s not here, right?”

The pro-lifers know full well that the senator is currently in D.C. yet are demonstrating in front of his Scranton home in hope that if Bob won’t listen maybe Terese will and call her husband.

Mrs. Casey’s question is a valid one.  So too are the reasons why Randall Jarrett is staging his group’s 4-day vigil in Pennsylvania.

One Merriam-Webster definition of vigil is “an act or period of watching or surveillance,” often characterized by prayerful hopes that some minor miracle will occur to accomplish a good end.

It will take at least a minor miracle to sway Sen. Casey’s vote to favoring the pre-born.

A seemingly distraught Terese Casey, sounding much like the twit who appealed to Britney critics, asked the vigil-keepers, “Why wont you leave him alone?  Why doesn’t anyone give him credit for the votes for life he has made?”

She was upset about their presence and added, “My children and neighbors will also be upset; you should have gone to his office, not here!” (http://bit.ly/66NOQZ)

Upsetment is relative and as for going to the hubby’s office, that’s a matter of opinion, Mrs. Casey.  A vigil at his D.C. office would be feasible and as fruitful as a vigil at Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s office.

That is, fruitless.

Reid, a Mormon, also likes to proclaim his opposition to abortion.

He repeatedly asserts that position even as he does all in his power to foist federally funded abortion rights  on the American people.

It’s deeply embedded in the dark recesses of his health care bill as surely as the single payer, public option and both will rear their ugly heads at the most opportune moment: http://bit.ly/8cYwLG

Obamacare will never pass the House without those provisions and the president desparately this lone feather in his cap before his State of the Union Address so his will be done.

Like Reid and Senator Ben Nelson, (the latter sold his vote and his soul last Friday), Senator Casey opposes abortion.  That is, he once did, or he faked it, or his jesuitical training finally kicked in.

Reid will pay for his perfidy next November in Nevada in his already-cooked run for re-election.  Nelson will have to wait until 2012 before he’s sent out to a Nebraska pasture.  That’s the same year Casey bites the PA dust after a single term.

Casey will follow former RINO, never-a-true-Republican and fellow PA pro-abortionist, Democrat Sen. Arlen Specter into that night of political oblivion.

Somehow at some time, good, prolific Catholic Bob Casey went astray and as his father twisted in his grave became an obsequious, subservient Washington Dem player.  Bob Casey

I hope that at some point Bob Casey recovers his mind and conscience.

As for Terese Casey’s objections to that vigil and in answer to her questions: Those who value the lives of the pre-born and who reject the patent evil that is abortion regret the disturbance of you, your children, and your neighbors.

Then, again, if someone doesn’t speak up for the 50,000,000 victims of abortion, who will?

It obviously won’t be Bob.
