Won’t you do for it what your mother did for you…
Carolyn Hileman

If you are reading this your Mother was an advocate for choice, she chose to carry you in her womb for nine months, she felt your first kick, watched you suck your thumb on the ultrasound, ate healthy foods and drank lots of water so that you would survive inside her. If you are reading this it is because your parents had you educated, they taught you to read, to write, understand math and all of life’s lessons, you are a very lucky person if you are reading this because your Mother at some point loved you enough to want you to come into this world. Now it is true there are some bad Mothers and Fathers, there always has been and there always will be, there can never be bad babies because they are too young to be at fault for anything.

You see a fetus if left alone grows into a baby, which tells us that the fetus is the beginning of life for that baby. It was also the beginning of life for you, everything you have accomplished, everything you are or ever will be is because your Mother chose to let you live. Hard to believe isn’t it that everything about you was once up to one woman’s decision to choose life, the president, who has called babies a burden would never have been around if his Mother had not chose life, he wouldn’t be here, because once you choose death that ends life and all of its possibilities. You would not pick a rose that had not fully bloomed, for you would kill it before it had the chance to blossom, and you do not kill a baby when it is first starting out because some group says it is OK.

Each and every person has a potential, each and every fetus as some like to call them is the beginning of potential, and the fetus discarded in a trash can out side of a clinic somewhere might have created a cure for a dreaded disease, ran for president or simply had a family of their own. I could tell you all of the arcane ways they use to snuff out potential but I will not, simply because we are not talking about what might have been, we are talking about what could be. It has your eyes, you know, probably even your dimples, the freckles you hated so much when you were growing up. It has your personality, your drive and determination and it is all wrapped up in that wonderful thing you call a fetus.

Perhaps you are just not at a state that you can raise a baby, not everyone is, but there are parents out there that would love and care for your baby as if it were their very own. You could know that a part of you is out there in the world and that you made a family very, very happy. There are agencies out there that will help you should you decide you simply cannot part with your baby once it is born, there are good people in your neighborhood that will help and one day you will find that you made the right choice, the choice for life. Choosing life is not a Christian thing, you do not have to believe in God to know right from wrong, you just have to think it through, if the end result is a baby then the beginning fetus is a life, won’t you do for it what your mother did for you…
