RSSWill Liberals In Congress Commit Ideological Suicide?

I’ve long said that liberals are delusional and that they will hold on to their totalitarian ideologies until the bitter end. It is a character flaw that can be exploited effectively. Take for example the current attempts in Congress to concoct and unconstitutional health care/insurance reform plan. Liberals want the massive amounts of power that taking control of such a large portion of the U.S. economy will give them. The quest for power blinds them just like it always has regardless of which of their fellow travelers throughout history that you study.
It is obvious that the leadership of both Houses are hellbent on passage of some form of unconstitutional legislation and that they are not above bribing their colleagues with millions in tax payer dollars redirected to their states and districts in order to get that accomplished. But with approval for the plan at an all time low, now just 38%, and with unaffiliated voters, voters needed to win election, firmly against it as well the question is now simply will the liberals in Congress commit suicide for the sake of their ideology?
They are caught between a rock and a hard place. Fail to pass a bill and their quest for power is set back and their screaming, illiterate and foolish base gets pissed off. Pass a bill and face almost certain defeat in 2010 and possibly 2012 and risk a new Congress undoing their handy-work, as unlikely as that may be. Even Congressmen in relatively safe seats and with lots of clout from years of winning elections are teetering on the brink.
The gun is in their hands and they have placed it in their mouths. Let’s see if they pull the trigger shall we?
Oh please do! I want to watch the splatter.
