The New York Yankees, America’s Team

Yankees       BRONXBABES NY YANKEES STORE      GO YANKEES!

I know, I know.  The New York Yankees are probably the most hated team in major league sports, hated publically for the same reasons the richest guy in town is privately despised because they are successful, wealthy, and “live” in the greatest house in town. Old Yankee Stadium

Too bad, suckers!  Red Sox fans, eat your hearts out.  Cubbies fans, you’re used to it.

The Yanks are also the most storied name in all sports and, after winning their 40th American League pennant last month tonight won their 27th World Series Championship!

Despise them for their success, wealth, and for Yankee Stadium all you wish but don’t deny them their due:  40 pennants since 1922, 27 World Series wins since 1923, 36 members of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Never forget either that it was the Yankees who saved baseball after the Black Sox scandals of 1919, saving the game with the guy who still remains the greatest home run hitter in history who made people forget Shoeless Joe Jackson and his fellow cheaters, the Bambino, the Sultan of Swat, George Herman Babe Ruth.

So, lift a glass and toast America’s team, THE NEW YORK YANKEES!
