Saying no to the healthcare bill is the Christian thing to do.

If I the taxpayer assure you insurance and have no money left to feed the hungry will it be right? If I the taxpayer insure you are never turned away for treatment and yet cannot afford my home and my family and I are on the streets, will you take us in? If I were to walk up to you one day, holding a cup so as to feed my family because my paycheck has been raided for taxes, would you give or just push me out of your way. There has been a lot said about how we Christians are not being very Christian like about the healthcare plan and while I understand that these people need a scapegoat I also understand that we as Christians have a right to decide what we want to give to and to whom. While insurance is important there are a lot of important works that we as Christians do that we may not be able to afford to do if we are hit with even higher taxes to pay for the healthcare plan.
We as Christians feed the hungry, we clothe them and house as many as we can, there are many, many organizations in which a needy person can go in no questions asked and get help. Most of these organizations have already been hit severely by the recession and are not getting near the donations needed to help their community. Food drives have started early this year in hopes that they can gather enough food to feed the hungry through the holidays and you wish to take money from the pockets of the people who are so strapped right now they cannot afford to donate more than a couple of cans of food. Donations all across the country are down as people struggle with rising food costs, rising gas prices and uncertainty about employment and yet we are expected to just keep taking care of it all.
Do we wish there was healthcare for everyone, yes, is it realistic no. Is it our job to provide it for you, no, will we be forced to, if this bill passes, yes. Your wish for free healthcare could very well be the death nail for a lot of the struggling organizations who feed the hungry, as they simply cannot stand another hit and I can assure you that if this bill passes wallets will be glued shut because we know that if it passes so will cap and trade follow and we cannot afford to give all our money away in case we need it. For you see there are many, many worthy causes every day at this time of year we are bombarded with people asking us to give and we know they need the money but we also know we need it too. If healthcare passes and becomes law, I expect that giving will all but dry up completely simply because the people will be in such fear as to what they can demand of us next.
We walk by faith and not by sight, which is good because if we were walking by sight the funding for these organizations would have dried up long ago. The good Lord gave us what he has and expects us to use it appropriately, that means that we are not to give so much that we ourselves need help, but to help those we can as often and as much as we can. They say giving everyone insurance is the Christian thing to do, I suspect those going around saying that have not stepped foot inside a church, for you see the Christian thing to do would be to teach them a trade, to show them the way to a place in life where they could afford their own insurance. Saying no to the healthcare bill is the Christian thing to do.
