Prophetic Isn’t It?

Last night I finally watched Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. As for the movie itself as a whole it was a jumble of seemingly loosely connected events mostly created to fill plot holes created by the previously events of the movie. Oh yeah, the specical effects were great. The movie however is barely above sucky.
However there is one thing that I noticed, and having watched it so late I am sure others have as well, is that despite being released in June of this year and in post production for many, many months before that, is that it sure is prophetic. My wife missed it but in the movie they did something rarely done by movies in that they mentioned a sitting President by name. Yeah, it was in the background and on a television that was in the background of a scene but it was unmistakable.
Often the reason for not mentioning specific political figures in movie is because the directors do not want to either date their movies or have the events of the movie related to any sort of political statements in general that may be drawn as a conclusion from the plot of the movie. But there it was, as plain as day, a mention of President Barack Obama.
Why is that significant? Because when you watch the movie you realize that the “President Obama” of the movie is the same President Obama that we have actually sitting in the White House. He is an appeaser, unwilling to fight wars against evil and seeking to make nice with the villains of the world. Yep.
In the beginning of the movie, when the plot actually was coherent before the writers started throwing everything in their heads into the script regardless of if it made one iota of sense, “President Obama” sends his crony, Theodore Galloway, to interfere with the battle between the humans fighting with the obviously good Autobots against the obviously evil Decepticons. Operating at the behest of “President Obama,” Mr. Galloway proceeds to muck up the works even ordering the Autobots off the planet (which thankfully they never do leave) because “President Obama” believes that the only reason there is a war going on is because of the presence of the Autobots and that he can negotiate with the Decepticons once the problem, who “President Obama” thinks are the Autobots, are gone.
Wow. How about that! I would say that the movie hits the nail on the head over and over again. We have seen with our own eyes and heard with our own ears the real life President Obama blame America for the problems of the world and kowtow to terrorists and grovel before villains around the world oppressing their people. Even now President Obama is unable to declare that he will indeed defeat evil in Afghanistan and waffles on how many troops to send despite the recomendation of his own general on the ground.
Movies can be prophetic can’t they?
