Litmus Test for Conservative Candidates

Last Rites and Testimony

The title should be limited to Republican candidates because nowadays it has become much more difficult to discern the difference for the common folk. It has become necessary to distinguish between a Republican and a Conservative because they have become strange bedfellows literally. None of this business about whether to establish a litmus test for candidates would be being discussed if the liberals hadn’t taken over the Republican Party. Let us start with the facts as it concerns the Republican Party. This party has lost its identity and doesn’t know what it stands for any longer. The leadership of the party has one main goal, “what can I get out this for my own personal gain”. They are nothing more than hirelings and the sheep are in disarray. The leadership of the conservative party should be ashamed of what they have allowed to happen and repent before God. When the Republicans gained control of the country in the early 90’s did they take advantage to right the wrongs of moral decay of America? No! John 10:12-13 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. The hireling fleeth, because he is a hireling, and careth not for the sheep. This party has left its first love pure and simple. When God is taken out of the equation sin dominates the conscience and then if a return to its roots doesn’t occur although he is a long-suffering God eventually he gives them over to a reprobate mind and that is where we are as a people of the Republican Party at least as far as the leadership in concerned. We are not Reagan’s shining city on a hill any longer but we do compete with the Democrats to see who can get us to hell in a hand-basket the quickest. We have acquiescence to the liberal Democrats and now; Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! As a result, the followers are disgusted because of a lack of leadership that once stood for something besides lining their pockets for personal gain. The leadership of the party has become as Isaiah described. Isaiah 56:10-12 His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter. Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and tomorrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant. This big tent idea forces compromises that defy the very principles that define what a conservative is all about. Moral issues are primary when defining a conservative and this move to the “big tent” opens the door to filling our ranks with evil people bent on destroying the conservative. We have too many wolves in sheep’s clothing as it is starting with Michael Steele a pro-choice Republican. Anti-gay marriage and anti-abortion have been mainstays of the platform for years but people like Steele and Barbour are more interested appealing to the lust of the flesh than standing firm for the righteousness of God.

Steele Regrets I’m Sure

I was chosen by Steele to represent the region for Republicans and was asked to fill out a questionnaire to get the pulse of the Republicans. After reading my response to him I am quite sure if he had his rathers he’d rather he hadn’t sent me that questionnaire. I have to say I am glad I was because this questionnaire served as reminder of the drift to the left taking place in our grand old party. I went through this list of questions all the way to the end and finally got to the meat of the conservatism only to find the question, “do I think we should take into consideration the social issues”? About the only thing I have in common with Steele is fighting the fight. Other than that we part company because we are miles apart and that goes for Haley Barbour also. This was disappointing but not too much because I have observed how the party has moved to the left and George “W” Bush was very instrumental. Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. There isn’t 10% difference in the liberal Democrats and Republicans today and that is why it is necessary to return to our roots with this litmus test. We have been infiltrated with the enemy and as a result their “divide and conquer” strategy is working, hence this discussion. Republican leaders don’t even discuss these social issues any longer and are so ignorant when it comes to understanding nothing they do will prosper without putting God first. Our country is under assault by evil seducing spirits more that any other time in our lives and it is pertinent now more than ever to fight back and restore God to society. This thing of John McCain and Lindsey Graham reaching across the aisle to compromise away what is right is shameful particularly when we are talking about the moral issues mentioned above. 1 Corinthians 10:20-22 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he? 2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

Keep the right focus through prayer and supplication. Mark 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. John 8:31-32 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Even if it turns out as Barbour and Steele say we become less a factor in American politics so be it. Compromising the righteousness of God insures defeat and focusing on the eternal is much more important than the temporary. It’s not as if God is powerless to intervene on our behalf, it can only mean one thing, he is judging America because her sins reached the throne of heaven and in his mercy because he is not willing that any should perish this is his attempt to bring the sheep back into the fold. Remember one thing, he didn’t separate himself from us, we separated ourselves from him. Matthew 16:26 for what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? James 5:1-8 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. Behold, the hire of the laborers who have reaped down your fields, which are of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabbath. Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you. Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain. Be ye also patient; establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
