What will he receive from his people in order for them to please him?

Be it Jim Jones, Charles Manson or Osama Bin Laden, each of these people had what is called a messianic complex, they could open their mouths and the masses would follow often to their deaths or the deaths of others. The people who followed them were often considered normal people who had fallen prey to these people, the one thing they all had in common was their undying loyalty to their leader even unto death. You and I would never dream of putting a bomb on our chest and walking into a crowded mall and setting it off, but those who follow the likes of Bin Laden do so regularly. We would never dream of killing people because someone we admired did not like them but the Manson children did, we would never think of drinking Kool-Aid laced with cyanide, but many people in fear for their way of life and in fear for their leader, not only drank it themselves but put it in their babies bottles.

One cannot imagine committing suicide for a cause, but that is exactly what democrats are doing right now and have been since January 20th 2009. While they have not drank Kool-Aid, or strapped on a bomb, they have in order to please their messianic messenger strapped on many, many ominous bills and daily walk into the house chamber and set them off. Knowing full well that their constituents are angry, knowing that the people do not want what it is they are pushing, they walk into that room every single day with their fingers on the buttons knowing full well that when the explosion is over and the pieces are collected their great leader’s remains will not be among theirs. You see the requirement of a truly great messianic leader is to have your people die for you, that way they can go on to be a leader to the next generation, Jim Jones being the exception to the rule, most if not all whether blown up in a compound, caught by the police or visited by a bomb have never been found among the carnage.

In order for a messianic complex to work, the person must be under identifiable stress, such as the loss of income or fear of that loss; they must be a dependent personality feeling the need to belong to a group, they are usually unassertive on their own needing others to back them on everything, there is certain gullibility in each of their followers and a need for instant answers, the messianic leader then steps in and promises to obtain for them everything he knows they are searching for and thus a relationship is born. Their leader although never one to put himself at risk will require of his followers more and more risk to prove their loyalty to him, even to death. While many Americans have laughed at the suicide bombers because they kill themselves for one person it is ominous that we are now watching our elected leaders follow that exact same path with their votes and some American people doing the same by omission. Political suicide is serious simply because we do not know just how far those affected by this complex will go to please their master, what will he require before it is all over with to show him their loyalty and what will he receive from his people in order for them to please him?
