Some Shit Just Cannot Be Polished

J.J. Jackson | October 3, 2009

There is an old idiom which states you cannot polish shit. This is actually not true. You can polish it although I honestly cannot imagine why you would want to.

Dorodango is the ancient Japanese art of polishing balls of dirt. Since shit is really nothing but dirt (or what becomes in part dirt) it can be polished in much the same way. But President Obama proved this week that some shit is just not able to be polished as the IOC laughed at his attempts to intervene on Chicago’s behalf and their bid for the 2016 Olympic games. Yes, despite his high profile attempts in which even the Oprah helped out in, the messiah once again failed … something that is becoming common place in the early stages of his administration.

Chicago is, to be blunt, a steaming pile of shit with rampant political corruption, violent crime rates that would make anyone hesitate to even set foot within the city limits, a collapsed economy and a societal system of welfare and handout mentalities. And they were actually being considered as a host site for the Olympic games? HA! Yeah, people often want to visit a city which is below third world on the cultural scale and where they have to worry about being cracked upside their head with a piece of lumber for such an event I am sure.

Obama tried his damnedest to polish the city of Chicago into a gleaming jewel. But his perceived powers were shown to be severely lacking. In the end all that there is is the same pile of shit that he started with. What I don’t want to overlook however is the obvious here. Even if Obama had been able to polish the shit that is Chicago it would have still been shit; shit created by decades of liberal malfeasance and false promises fed to a population that is way too smart to buy into them but for some reason still does.
