Culling out the most ridiculous features of recent news items is always a challenge, what with all the absurdities and screwballs in the competition, but here are some of the best:
Swede Charged With Hate Speech: Swedish Democratic Leader Jimmie Akesson published an opinion piece in Aftonbladet asserting “that the spread of Islam represents the country’s ‘greatest external threat since World War II.’ “
Assertion of the obvious is apparently frowned upon by some in Sweden.
Akesson was roundly condemned and ”reported to Sweden’s highest legal official by the Centre Against Racism.”
No refutation of Akesson’s position was offered but the head of the Centre did say, “We are of the view that the article agitates against Muslims when it points at Islam as the greatest threat to Sweden:” http://bit.ly/UOwlP.
What with the continuing worldwide jihad being waged against Western Civilization by Islamic Fundamentalists, Akesson’s contention seems to hold great credibility. His critics failed to present any other viewpoint on what does pose the “greatest external threat” to Sweden if it is not Muslims.
Bra-less Somalis: Masked, unthreatening Muslim men in Somalia are publicly whipping Muslim women who dare to wear bras because they are practicing “deception.”
To further humiliate the Somali fair sex, “After the public whippings, the women are forced to remove their bras and shake their breasts.”
As one Muslim woman complained, “They first banned the former veil and introduced a hard fabric which stands stiffly on women’s chests. They are now saying that breasts should be firm naturally, or just flat.”
The hardline Islamic group Shabaab which amputates the feet and hands of robbers “has also banned movies, musical ringtones, dancing at wedding ceremonies and playing or watching soccer:” http://bit.ly/mG8Fq.
Drunk Man Stabs Son: Seemingly infuriated and inebriated Vermonter, Nazeih Hammouri, allegedly stabbed his 19 year old son in the stomach with a corkscrew following an argument over a clogged toilet.
There apparently was no plunger available in the Hammouri household.
Bail was set at $15,000 and Hammouri is being held on a first degree assault charge: http://bit.ly/d5I8v.
Immigrants Are Not Amused: Some people don’t think a Halloween costume of an illegal alien carrying a green card is very funny.
Now, aside from the facts that an illegal alien wouldn’t have a green card–which would make him or her a legal alien–and that Halloween was originally a pagan festival, later designated by the Church as All Hallows (Holy) Evening preceding All Saints’ Day, it’s now celebrated as a jolly old time by kids in America.
They dress up in odd regalia and go trick-or-treating and if you don’t supply a treat, you can get tricked, or egged, or toilet-papered.
Bernie Madoff and Michael Jackson masks are hot this year but the figure of an inter-galactic alien clad in an orange prison jumpsuit, and bearing that green card, has other aliens up in arms.
Says one immigrant activist, it’s “distasteful, mean-spirited and ignorant of social stigmas and current debate on immigration reform.” She leaned on Target to cease and desist dissing illegals by selling the costume, and Target caved to the pressure: http://bit.ly/3yfldn.
White House Hails a Mass Murderer: We all have our heroes; as a kid mine was Mickey Mantle and as a grownup it was Ronald Reagan. Obama’s Communication Director Anita Dunn admired Mao Zedong.
As he evolved into a great Communist “political philosopher,” Mao managed to find time to murder an estimated 65 million of his countrymen, committed various other atrocities, killed thousands of Americans in Korea, and thousands more Americans by supplying the North Vietnamese in the Vietnam War.
Yet, Dunn believes his “philosophy was important for achieving personal and political goals.”
One critic thought, “It’s outrageous and pathetic that a person, anyone in this country frankly, would still believe” that Mao was a great man and least of all a philosopher worthy of emulation: http://bit.ly/2ybgTh
However, we’re now living in Obama World where screwballs like Dunn, illegal aliens, Muslim fanatics, and stupid Swedes are empowered to exercise their madness in public.
It’s just too bad that their toilets aren’t stopped up else we could sic Nazeih Hammouri on them with his trusty corkscrew.
