P.C. vs Child Safety in Great Britain: P.C. Wins!
Gene Lalor | October 28, 2009
From the “You Can’t Make This Stuff Up” news pile comes this head-scratcher from across the Pond: Officials in one British town have forbidden parents from escorting their own children in public playgrounds unless they submit to criminal background checks.
Apparently, the officious officials in the town of Watford have too much time on their hands.
Parents may still bring their children to the parks but unless they are properly investigated and receive a seal of approval from the state the mums and dads must drop the kidlets off and then peer over the fence to insure they remain safe and unmolested.
The esteemed Watford burghers are evidently concerned for the safety of the little Watfordians by protecting them from their parents who, as one wag points out and in the infinite wisdom of said burghers, “are more likely to assault children in a public park than in their homes:” http://moonbattery.com/.
Makes sense, right?
The same wag, “Gregory of Yardale,” also points out that other British twits had approved two known homosexuals as foster parents and refused to intervene even after being informed they were molesting boys in their charge.
The official twitty reasoning? In an exhibition of political correctness run amok, the pedophile pervs were considered “trophy care providers” and they feared trampling on their rights.
That latter sick story can be read in its entirety on MichelleMalkin.com: http://bit.ly/wywel.
As I said, you can’t make this stuff up!
