Obama’s Crazy Czar, Part Two: Animals Are Better Than Humans

Carl Andrews | October 15, 2009

We just pointed out that Obama’s Regulatory Czar, Cass Sunstein, thinks that the rights of the state override the rights of the individual.

If the feds decide that it is in the best interest of the government that you become an organ donor, an organ donor you will be.

They won’t need your permission.

They won’t need the permission of your family or loved ones.

And if your prognosis is not very good, they will make that decision for you.

Sounds like this guy would have fit right in at Auschwitz, doesn’t it?

He couldn’t be any more out of touch with the rest of America than that, could he?

That’s what you think.

Watch:

A horse or a dog is more rational than a newborn?

By who’s criteria?

If we taught toddlers to fetch a frisbee, would that even things up?

Hang on, it gets better:

“Morally akin to slavery and the mass extermination of human beings.”

Is this loonytoon seriously comparing what he perceives as animal cruelty to slavery?

Leaving a cat outside in the cold is the same as owning another human being?

This country fought the bloodiest war in it’s history to out an end to such an inhuman, barbaric practice.

Having a dog put to sleep is as morally wrong as the Holocaust?

What the hell do these people put into the Kool-Aid that they drink?

And before you folks from PETA decide to lash out, allow me to explain a few things.

I am a gun owner, but not a hunter.
There is no wildlife I would care to eat, therefore I see no sense in shooting it.

I think Michael Vick should have been sentenced to life in prison.
Preferably with a rabid dog for a cellmate.

I respect dogs more than I do a lot of human beings. (Especially Czars)

My wife and I currently share our home with a lovable, if somewhat psychotic, cat.

But there is a line between animal lover and lunatic.

And Cass Sunstein is over the line.

Not only does he hold animals in higher regard than he does people, he believes animals should be granted the same rights as people!
Or, in actuality, perhaps more rights.

Remember, this is the same man who doesn’t think that the government needs your permission (or even wait for you to die) before making the decision that you will be an organ donor.

Animals, on the other hand, according to Sunstein, should be give the right to sue humans!

In a 2004 book he co-wrote, Sunstein spelled out his plan to allow animals to file a lawsuit:

“Animals should be permitted to bring suit, with human beings as their representatives, to prevent violations of current law … Any animals that are entitled to bring suit would be represented by human counsel, who would owe guardian like obligations and make decisions, subject to those obligations, on their clients’ behalf.”

Does that statement sound like the words of someone who is living on the same planet as the rest of us?

I’ll leave it up to those of you who may agree with Sunstein to explain how a horse obtains legal counsel, how to find someone to interpret the testimony of a polar bear, etc.

Which leads us back to a recurring question:

Where in the hell does Obama find these people?
