You are a racist.

You are a racist.
Carolyn Hileman

Do you automatically call your neighbor a racist if they do not agree with you? Do you consider anyone a terrorist if they disagree with the government? What would happen if you were at a church social and were discussing politics and some one said they did not want the healthcare plan and you started calling them a racist accusing them of just being uncomfortable having a black president? How would you feel if every word out of your mouth were considered racist, if any time you went to a rally against anything the government sponsored you were deemed a terrorist and put on a watch list? What if President Bush were still in office and there had been created Bush truth squads, if he had sent people from agencies to rough up protestors, set up an email so that citizens could report citizens, if children in schools across America sang songs of praise to him, if every time he passed a bill it was in the billions of dollars and you saw no real results from it?

If he told a CEO to leave a company or the government would not help it, if the one he did help had to close all the dealerships that had donated to democrats? Are you really going to tell us there would not be an outcry heard the world over, that people would not be suggesting his lynching? Right now all of these things have been happening around you, all by or for president Obama. Suddenly anything and everything is perfectly OK because he is the first black president, and anyone who disagrees with any of it is a racist enemy of the state. Now tell me, if the person who one day decides this is wrong is married to you, will you suddenly decide they are a racist and leave them? What if that person is your child, your own flesh and blood, perhaps you’re Mom, Dad, sister or brother would they all be deemed racist in your eyes? Since our votes are supposedly secret, what if your spouse had not really been voting the party line all these years and it was found out and they lost their job because of it, would you be angry because they had kept it from you, because they had voted for the enemy, or because someone had broken the seal of privacy and because of that you were going to be out of that income?

What would happen if one day your child is at school and they are practicing a song of praise for the president and your child refused because they felt uncomfortable? If your child was punished would you say they should have just done as they were told or would you be at that school demanding to see the principle? What if your neighbor whom you have known for years, eaten at their home, had their kids over to play with your kids, were almost closer than family had a tragedy, one of their children was seriously injured and under the new healthcare plan they were required to submit their child to mandatory end of life counseling, and that those visits increased every time their condition worsened? Would you tell them it was for the best, that their child needed to let go and save the money for treatments for someone who could really benefit from them, or would you be angry that that the government sponsored grim reaper was constantly hounding your friends? While it is all to easy to say we won, you lost get over it, or bring up everything the former president did when you really stop to think about it you have to question what is happening in our country. But don’t say anything; don’t let anyone know you think something might be wrong, because if you do you are a racist.
