WRONG! ACORN Employees Were Not Victims Of Entrapment!
J.J. Jackson | September 24, 2009
The stupidity of liberals, as I have said many time before, does not amaze me. Nor does their ability to descend like vultures to defend the dead carcass of one of their own. Yes, the emails from liberals who THINK they are lawyers are flowing into my email box based solely on the fact that I have cheered O’Keefe and Giles for exposing the corruption that is the criminal enterprise known as ACORN. Now, I am not a lawyer either but there are some things that I do know. First of all I have had a couple legal courses on the law and the interpretation of the law from when I was working on my Masters Degree in Environmental Engineering. Second of all I know how to use the Internet.
Here is the most prominent claim from the moonbat left about what Giles and O’Keefe have done. The claim is that they “entrapped” the ACORN workers and that because of this the ACORN workers seen on tape attempting to facilitate crimes are not really guilty of any wrong doing.
X – eeeeeeehhhhhh … WRONG!
See, there is a specific definition of what entrapment is and that is as follows. Entrapment consists of law enforcement or their agents coercing someone into committing a crime (or planning to commit a crime) that they would not be otherwise inclined to commit. There must be persuasion on the part of law enforcement or their agents in order for entrapment to occur.
Now, let’s look at what actually happened in the case of ACORN. Two people walk in to their offices. Those people state that they are looking to do something(s) which is illegal (child prostitution and tax evasion in this case). At this point the ACORN employees have two options. First is they can kick these two persons out because they are not inclined to commit such crimes or be a party to them. If this is the case then when the two attempting to get them to go along apply some sort of coercion and they then agree to help them entrapment has occurred. However the ACORN employees (at multiple locations) opt for option two which is to aid and abet of their own free will.
When that second action is chosen there can be no entrapment. Just like there can be no entrapment when an officer rolls up to a stranger on a street corner, asks him if he knows where to by some drugs and the strangers then pulls out whatever drug he is trying to pedal.
So let me make the same advice to you liberals that I often make. Don’t try this at home. Right is right and wrong is wrong. ACORN is wrong. Stop defending them like lemmings.
