RSSObama Set To Break Pledge On Taxes … Again

President Obama is heading for another “read my lips” moment. During the campaign the would-be President repeatedly pledged to not increase taxes on lower income Americans. Exactly what level of income earners would not feel the sting of his pen when it came to tax increases was an ever changing mark, but the bribe was clear; elect him and he would tax, “the other guy.”
Yeah, well welcome to Liberal Land folks! Seems President Obama is pondering a “sin tax” on pop. Now, correct me if I am wrong, and I am not, but IF he taxes soft drinks and a person earning $30,000 a year buys a soft drink with a tax on it that it did not have before would that not be a tax increase? Why yes! It would indeed!
Gov. Paterson’s proposal to tax soda in New York fizzled, but President Obama believes it may be time to pop a similar sin tax on the nation.
The President, in an interview with Men’s Health magazine released yesterday, said he thought taxing soda and other sugary drinks is worth putting on the table as Congress debates health care reform.
“It’s an idea that we should be exploring,” the president said. “There’s no doubt that our kids drink way too much soda. And every study that’s been done about obesity shows that there is as high a correlation between increased soda consumption and obesity as just about anything else.”
Come on, be honest … you really did not think that a flaming liberal who believes in Marxist ideology would not ponder increasing your taxes did you? Yeah, I know … Obama was young and naive all those months ago. But he has grown so much since then. And you certainly cannot expect him to abide by his promises can you? What are you? Some sort of troublemaker than Rahm Emanuel will have to take care of in the “Chicago way?” You don’t want that do you? So be a good little comrade and take it.
Besides you know Obama is not to blame and it is all the fault of President Bush … even though Obama during his tenure in office in the Senate never once did one damn thing to help fix things and just blindly promoted left wing ideology. Somehow President Bush out smarted him and made him do it. My God that Bush was such an idiot right?
