Are we now so depraved, so void of any values that nothing matters anymore?

As I look through the headlines today I am simply amazed at the people who are angry a child rapist is finally being brought to justice after 30 years. Of course he isn’t your garden variety child rapist he is a famed director who not only raped a child but fled the country to avoid his sentence on the reduced charge. If you strip away his many awards, his Hollywood status he is nothing more than a pervert but since he is capable of writing movies that bring in awards according to Hollywood he should have all charges dropped.
Perhaps this explains the disconnect that Hollywood has with the public at this point, they can criticize, dehumanize anyone including a sitting president, but they cannot and will not believe that one of their own deserves to go to prison even if they plied a thirteen year old girl with champagne and drugs and forcefully had sex with her, I am sure in their minds they believe it was not forced, why what young lady would not want to sleep with a man who could make her a star? But the fact remains even if it was consensual it was still statutory rape and he was still wrong.
Hollywood for years has slapped us in the face with our values, there are very few TV shows now that do not regularly use expletives, gone are the days of good wholesome Television, in its place are shows that defy traditional values at every level and commercials that sell sex at every segment, each and every time they try and add just one more thing to shock us and we sit there thinking one more thing and I will stop watching this, but we don’t. We watch again, and then they do it again and one more time we swear we will stop watching them. I have made good on a bunch of them such as Saving Grace, we watched it once and realized they were trying to use an angel to sell an R rated that should be X rated TV show and that was more than enough I can’t even stand the commercials.
This however is beyond the pale even for the sick twisted mind of Hollywood, what of young ladies like Ms. Smart who was abducted, what of your little girl, this is not just about a star who made a mistake. This is about the fact that Hollywood does not care what happens to 13 year old girls in the home of grown men who should know better; this is about every mother and father who worries that their daughter over at a friends home might be accosted by the father. What have we become when we no longer care that a man selected by the president as a czar once told a rape victim to use a condom next time or that a man with means and popular friends in high places is forgiven by the high and mighty for being a child molester and has petitions circulating for his release. Are we now so depraved, so void of any values that nothing matters anymore?
